I wonder what happened to their staff. People are back to work while social distancing. It is what it is though.
Reallocated to other departments such as CERB (or whatever they now call it), EI, CEWS, and other covid response benefit funding departments the government has set up.

Immigration is generating more money than those other departments so they should hire more staff for it. It's like biting off more than you can chew . With all the thousands more invitations every month, who knows what will happen in coming months since EI is still on for next year. Oh well....

Actually, immigration is costing the government more money than it is generating. And the residents of the country, you and me included, who may be eligible for the Covid response benefits, need expedited service or they could become homeless and then we have a much bigger problem within Canada than delayed processing of PR applications.

Hehe, you are so cool @Mshimpi - thanks, you just made me smile haha.

The agent last week said systems are very slow, but still this is very annoying to have a message stating "you have not given your biometrics" lol but it's linked and I am exempt from biometrics as I have given them in 2019 for a TR application.
Did you make the phone call successfully? I tried three times this morning, cannot transfer me due to high call volume.

Keep trying! It's a real pain to get into the queue. I got transferred this morning and then it hang up on me after 37min. I got into the queue just now for another try and asked for a recall when it's my turn.
Good luck!

I was finally able to contact an agent and they gave me my update:

CEC Inland + 1 dependent // AOR July 13
Eligibility: not started
Security: not started
Criminality: in progress

Medical passed: Sept 4
Biometrics complete: Oct 26 (SC appointment including spouse)

Not much progress on our case, the waiting game continues. Who know for how long....

We have very similar timeline, CEC Inland (individual), AOR Jul 14. I think I will try to contact later, when see more people get updates.

Hi there everyone. My AOR was July 02. Medical passed October 02. Still no BIL?
I called IRCC on Nov 03 they said profile my profile eligibility was updated to "Recommended pass" on October 30 What does this mean?

Edit : my bg check: We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
They requested RCMP check on Oct 02 and it was submitted on Oct 14.

Called IRCC and found out I passed eligibility on November 6th, 2020.
How did you speak to them? I'm trying since yesterday, but after I put my application number and I press 0 to speak with an agent, the voice says that all the agents are busy and the phonecall is cut down.

Your RCMP report is replacing the BIL to be used for conducting the criminality check.

you just have to try 3-4 times or call after a bit, i get that message sometimes, it usually goes thru 2-3 try, the wait time is usually about 45mins

Thanks for your response. Sorry, but I am a bit confused, do you mean I'll get BIL after bg check is done? Or you mean they'll use the RCMP fingerprints for Biometrics?
