STUDY
I wanted to know how different intakes work in terms of semesters and scheduled break.
I know about fall intake, it’s like this :
September intake + January intake and may intake is your scheduled break

but I’m confused as to how January and may intakes work. Do they even get breaks? If so how?
I’m thinking of going in summer intake but my college defines summer intake as break so does that mean I’ll have 3 consecutive semesters before a break?
Students who are studying in Canada, please enlighten me! Thank you

Something that has been in my mind for some time as well.

There are so many different programmes. No co-op vs co-op, concurrent work placements, work placements in the last year of studies/last semester, no work placement at all. It’s really hard to provide guidance without knowing at what level you are studying, what province etc. See immigration is federal but education is provincial. So it’s not an easy question to answer.

Is there official sites explaining the same? Or where they provide the guidelines?

What are you looking to apply for? College or university level?
College. My program is Software Engineering Technology - Artificial Intelligence. Ontario advances diploma. College Centennial.

It looks like there is an optional co-op with that programme. So that changes things but otherwise it says 3 years, 6 semesters which means you do 2 semesters per year. It depends on the courses you choose typically. Some are available only certain times of the year but the program admissions person can usually help to answer those questions.

Yeah. I think approaching college for the same would be better. After all having CO-OP is optional. Anyway thanks for clarifying it.
