Please explain the terrible experience you have and how you say is the worst department. They follow certain procedure and time frame, and still trying the best output during pandemic. Which country and department is better than Canada you have experience for immigration?
Geol Saab go find my past posts you will get to know.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
People with Mississauga has your application moved an inch since January? Or am I the only one in waiting.

Has anyone contacted them recently?
i got a request for police clearance and medical on Oct 22. We submitted everything in November and now just waiting. I think it will take maybe a few months from here to get passport requests which is totally fine for us as none of my parents want to come to Canada during this pandemic. I am hoping the result will come out in March 2021.

I dont bother to contact them as I dont want my application to be processed this year.

CPC-M update! my parents received request today requiring submission of hukou and Chinese certificate of no criminal record. Finally news from CPC-M that they are working!!!

However, tricky thing about my case is that my parents are both Hong Kong citizens and long gone are any Chinese hukou or tides with China from many years ago. With covid in place, how can i apply for a "CHINESE" police criminal record? Anyone has experience with this or know how we can approach it?

Much appreciated!

My sponsorship changed to Decision Made status in ECAS more than 3 weeks ago but I haven't received any correspondence - not clear what is the decision, where is the application now, etc. Is it normal?

I don’t blame you, it’s a human tendency. Whose pr has been done within six months said - very good system , and whose file is pending for 18 months will say worst system. We all have the same nature. The IRCC has mentioned 80% files will be cleared within 20-24 months, and due to pendamic 2020 PR applications has been delayed for almost 9 months . Hence you please add 9 months to 2019 pr applications delay also. You were calculating the money IRCC will collect on fees. You should also calculate the parents become pr will save on health insurance per year you or any body else is paying to maintain super visa status. I still say the Canada immigration system is still better than any other country in the world as of now. Or you please tell me for my knowledge which country has a better system?

I could not agree more.

I find it difficult to believe that folks are so thankless.

what ghost update actually is and what fields get updated in ghost update ?

Hi, I called IRCC and finally found out it not ghost update. My parent had a telephone landing on Nov.12. Ghost updates usually means receiving emails reminder there is a update but when logging into account, nothing changes. Or updates be created by mistake.

The GCMS notes are issued under the Access to Information Act, which is a federal law allowing any person to get access to information about them from the federal government.

In order to be allowed to apply for the notes, you have to be a Permanent Resident or a Canadian Citizen. If you are not, you can still get your notes, but you will have to go through a representative that is either a Permanent Resident or a Canadian Citizen. This representative will apply for an Access to Information Act request on your behalf.
There is a process to apply and not the web form.
So my mother in law cannot access her own information? That doesn’t seem right. And yes, web form is the way to request them as many others have done. I am her representative but every time I have contacted them they say they cannot verify my information. They don’t give clear answers to anything. Just scripted nonsense where they don’t even answer the question. The whole process with these web forms is unacceptable.

Two Sponsorship Applications in the process:

Parents Sponsorship -

Application Received Date: May 2019
AOR1: Aug 2019
SA Approval: Sep 2019(got to know from GCMS set) Every time I called them it is a different story, oh you are cleared just waiting for this, just waiting for that. ETC ETC.
Dead Silence From Sep 2019 till today Nov 2020 ( 14 months )

Parents are here on Super Visa since 2016, and I'm paying more than $3000 each year on insurance. So I know about that and I'll pay it to maintain their status and cover myself

OutlandSpousal Sponsorship -

Application Received Date: Dec 2019
AOR1: Jan 2020
SA Approval: Jan 2020
File Moved to CPC-M: Feb 2020
Dead Silence From Feb 2020 till today Nov 2020 ( 9 months )

And you are teaching me that this is the best system. Yes, it is a human tendency to blame the system from which they had a bad experience. I'm getting double the Trauma right now from IRCC's mismanagement.

I've been dealing with IRCC since 2011, got my studies and my residence in Canada and I'm glad I got this opportunity. I'm not blaming a country, I'm blaming a Government department and their mismanagement.
I got my PR under Express Entry in less than 6 months and was amazed and happy. I guess now they showed their true colors.

GCMS notes is free if the requestor is PR or citizen. Otherwise, we have to get approval from the application and pay $5 dollars. I got the same situation.
Regarding webform, if you are sure you are representative (sometime, the information is not right in the system), you need to double check you input right info in webform, like birth date, it should be the applicant's one, not representative one (I made such mistake before).

I would be more than happy and thankful to you if instead of typing this message, you could come and contribute to the pockets, of some people who are facing financial losses due to these delays.

Just want to correct the information here:

Only PR or Citizen can apply for GCMS notes - yes(but need the consent for from the applicant if requesting for some one)

Fees depends on the type of Notes:

What type of information are you requesting?
  • Personal information is usually requested under the Privacy Act. - Free
There are no fees charged for requests made under the Privacy Act.
The purpose of the Privacy Act is to protect the privacy of individuals with respect to personal information about themselves where it is held by a government institution and to provide individuals with the right to access such information.
Note: Personal information which belongs to an individual who is not a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or currently living in Canada must be requested under the Access to Information Act.
  • All government records (which include corporate documents and personal information) may be requested under the Access to Information Act.
The application fee for request made under that Access to Information Act is $5.00.
The purpose of the Access to Information Act is to provide a right of access to records under the control of a government institution to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or any individual or corporation present in Canada.

Hi,

My parents medical was done in Nov 2019, and I was waiting for the next steps.
Last week I got an email from CIC that they require additional documents in support of my father's government employment. But my father has never worked as a government employee and the same option was selected in their application form as well.

My mom did work in the government sector before she got retired, but they have not asked for any documents for her service.

Anyone else in the same situation, as in why CIC would ask to submit the proof of government employment?

Thanks,
Mandy
