OINP - Employer Job Offer : Foreign worker stream

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 at this stage, most foreign nationals cannot travel to Canada at the moment. Therefore, if I could get my OINP approval within the end of 2020. Am I eligible to use my closed work permit accompany my family to Canada because I would like to let my kid to attend public school in September 2021 during applying for PR application? Thanks everyone for sharing.

my status has not changed yet. How long did it take to change your status from submitted to assessment ?

Most of the people their status changed in approximately 4 weeks some people get it so fast in a week or 2 , others 6 & 8 weeeks
 
Answer from OINP about 2nd closed work permit.

Hello,
Thank you for your correspondence to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).

If your current work permit is expiring and your application for permanent residence has not yet been finalized, the OINP may be able to issue a new work permit support letter.

You must have been nominated under an Employer Job Offer stream.

To request a new work permit support letter, please email the OINP at ontarionominee@ontario.ca and provide copies of your two most recent pay slips and a scanned copy of your current work permit. Please provide your application file number in your email.

Please allow up to two weeks for the OINP to process the request.
Thank you for your interest in the OINP.

Anyone know if when applying for closed work permit if the role you’re working in needs to match exactly with the role on the work permit support letter?
The NOC is the same, just the title has Senior in it now. I’ve emailed OINP anyway so will see what they say. I can’t risk getting my work permit application rejected as my current work permit expires in a few weeks.

Better to keep it same. As per the nomination terms, no change is allowed. But since OINP has been notified, please act as directed by them.
