Hi guys,
Does anyone know if brother in law is considered an extended family member?
I'm pregnant and my sister and her husband are planning to come to Canada to help me for a few weeks after the delivery. In the authorization letter there is no option for brother in law, so I'm not sure if I can choose the following option: "siblings or the siblings of my spouse or common-law partner (i.e.-brothers and/or sisters, including half-siblings and step siblings)"

Thanks!

Unfortunately your brother in law is not considered as an extended family member.

If your sister is approved she will need to quarantine in a separate area like a basement apartment or airbnb because a newborn is considered a vulnerable person. The baby is at higher risk if they catch covid and babies often have appointments so your family will likely have contact with the healthcare system and you don't want to risk bringing covid into a hospital or clinic.
