@13nitinsharma - Hi, Please suggest for my question below;
I am inside Canada and my family in india. Our COPR expired and like others i am also following up with IRCC by sending the RTT for past 2 months. No updates yet. Meanwhile, My WP also expired in Sep hence i filed Open WP to have legal status here(Only for myself). My open WP approved yesterday and received the copy of the same. Now i would like to reunite with my family while they process AL. as you know, noboady know when will receive AL.
My qtn here is, can i apply visitor visa(depenedent visa mentioning accompanying family) for my wife and daughter? I am assuming it may get processed in a month. Is this possible to apply visitor while our PR approved but not officially become a Permenant resident? Please provide your thought on this.

Apologies in advance if this is out of topic, but what are people who have been left unemployed due to resignation/ COVID/ economic slowdown etc do to pass the time?

Everyday just seems to be going at a snail's pace with no end in sight. Had quit my Job due to the migration plan and then lockdown hit. Webform after webform ready to travel with no reply. COPR expired June 06th, had got a letter in GC account stating in a nutshell, "no worries if you can't travel let us know when you're ready"

I spent june, july ,august, sept in my own place but the cost of living, rent etc began earing into the nest egg I had saved for canada so moved into my parent's house, only to get taunts from my parents and the neigbors on how I made the worst decision of my life by quitting the job.

People who don't know who the mayor of the city is are commenting on how Biden's win will close all canada doors and the COPR will be made void. Listening to this day in and day out is really destroying my soul.

Will delete if inappropriate. Not looking for anything, just needed to get this off my chest.
Thankyou very much for taking this off your chest because everything that happens, happens for a reason, and at its own time. Not all of us will be able to understand it at the time.

But what you can do, is smile and stay positive. Even in the face of any impossibility, staying positive does not cost anything. In fact it will repeatedly reassure you that everything will work out when it has to work out. You need to believe this.

I am sure its not easy to listen to taunts, but the choice of controlling your life is in your hands. Do whatever is required to be done to sustain yourself. Be it a job or a hobby or just finding your own peace, because at the end of the day, it is you who matters to yourself. Your today should not be controlled by what people think or say. Circumstances can change anytime and tides will turn for the good, not just for you, but for every person whos going through these trying times.

stay blessed, stay happy.

Hi.! I received my COPR in Oct 23rd 2020 and my visa is valid until 12th Feb2021. I’m not coming from US and I don’t have any family member in Canada. I’m aware of the fact that right now I can’t travel to Canada due to travel restrictions. But just in case suppose if they remove travel restrictions in January 2021 I will not have enough time to plan my trip before my visa get expired ( Feb 12th ) I’m not willing to take any chance. What should I do now? Should resign from my job and plan my trip or should I write to IRCC? Pls advice me! What is the 4 point email? Should I be getting it or should I submit anything to get that mail. Pls pls help me! I’m so confused!

I would not resign until certain of passage to land. Including taking a 'sudden/emergency' leave from work if it comes to that. Land here and send a remote resignation - if that is at all feasible in your circumstances (PF, collecting end of service benefits etc etc...how much of money is at risk down this path).

Yes - write to IRCC - regularly. Calling in - regularly. Persistence might pay. Contrary to my own practices of affording courtesy, avoiding call traffic to agents etc. - but then the other choice is delay and other applications getting through (mine is an example).

Finally - this might be a good opportunity to distract and trick your brain into thinking your existing job is the career in the long run. That way 1. your bosses will be happier 2. Your mental well being will boost - your thoughts would settle down into the daily routine.

Best wishes!

I will recommend you to wait for authorization letter of your family members. CIC has also started rolling out re-medicals request since last week. ALs are also issued with a slow pace too.

So, the point is - considering the current movement of COPR expired applications, you should not apply for visitor visa. Just be more patient (I know this is a tough time for everyone), trust the process. Raise an another RTT webform to trigger the request. It helps to many case like you.

Hi,
Same situation here. We received CORP on 05 Nov 2020 with a validity only until 03 Jan 2021. With the current travel restrictions, we’re not allowed to land. Now we’re praying that the won’t suddenly lift travel restrictions in Dec or early Jan, we don’t have enough time for preparation and landing :(
Planning to try our luck to request IRCC to extend our CORP. At the same time doing whatever we could to plan for a last minute landing in case they suddenly remove travel restrictions.
If you hear anything from IRCC regarding your case, please share here so anyone with a similar case knows what to expect. Thanks.

My copr has expired on 25th March.I have filled 4 ready to travel web forms .I have put my email id in all of them.My pr file was handled by my representative. He has emailed to the embassy but not filled a web form.In gckey his email address is there.
My question is if I raise a Ready to travel web form and put his email id will it make any difference? Will they notice webform faster if sent by the same id as gckey.
I have got only generic responses till now and no progress.
Thanks
The responses to the webform are always sent to the email id you have in there. So it does not matter whether you have your email id or our representative's.

Thank you so much @hinavin
What did you mean by delaying and other applications getting through? If I were not able to complete my landing before the visa expiration what will happen? Is it a risk? What should write to IRCC? Asking for visa extension? Or asking for approval for my landing?

Thanks Nithin. I had raised 2 RTT request so far. Let me wait and follow up on those. Meanwhile, Can i just submit my passport for mu open WP visa stamping? or that too may jeopardies my PR landing if incase i receive AL once after i sent my passport? I am alsone living here in Toronto and getting depression, so thought of going home with this open WP and comeback once i receive AL or comeback using this open WP after spent sometime with family.. really dont know what step i have to take.

Just to be clear - when you say expired CoPRs are from May/June, you mean CoPRs issued in may/june and are now expired or CoPRs that expired in may/june?

My VO is Ottawa. I got a remedical request on my account today with the 2 forms. Application has been out as In-Progress again (action required) and expired CoPR details have been deleted from the account. I have 90 days to complete the remedicals.
My CoPR & medicals expired on April 10th. Learned from agent that the medicals were extended until Sept 20th. Was hoping to get some updates on AL by then, didn’t happen though. Now gotta do the remeds and hope for the best.

Did you raise any Ready to Travel webforms before getting the re-medical request? Also, are you in India?

Learned from the agent that the medicals were extended until Sept 20th - Are you referring to an IRCC agent?
