Early arrival to Canada

No as there is only 3 weeks left of teaching hours in the semester and would have to pay rent for the 3 weeks between semesters and would be pretty much alone and aged 18 I did not want her to be in this position, so she is going beginning of January, I'll find out then what dates will be on the study permit, I expect them to be the dates as indicated in her letter of introduction ie 31/8/20-31/8/24 (it will end earlier if she finishes studies earlier). All 5 of her classes were supposed to be in person this semester, but she had to swap onto live online ones and had to drop 2 obligatory in person classes which cannot be done online so she's now behind her graduation schedule and has only just started. She should be doing all in person classes from January. I know there are few universities doing in person, but where the university is, it's remote and has had little covid infections, the presence of the students hasn't made a difference.
One thing the letter of introduction does not mention is the start date of the ETA but it mentions the end date as 20/10/2025 but as the ETAs are 5 years validity, I think it can be taken the ETA starts 20/10/2020.
Oh so you didn't get a stamp since you are a Visa exempt national. That's why I was kinda confused. You're right in that we will all find out the validity of the Study Permit when it is given to us in the airport and I too think it will most probably be the same as what the visa in the passport is.
She can get a stamp in her passport if she wants! She won't get one until she enters Canada though.
I believe you are mistaking a stamp in a passport for a temporary residence visa.
A stamp is given at the border by the CBSA officer. It has its personal identification on it, the name of border point and date.
A visa (also known in IRCC talk as counterfoil) is a pre-clearance in the form of paper (other countries might use wet ink formulas still) which visa nationals need to enter Canada. A TRV is not a stamp.
Visa exempt / non visa nationals for Canada do not need TRVs and they instead receive ETAs, the only proof of which is the number they are given for the ETA as it is not in physical form.
Both visa and visa exempt nationals can get stamps in their passports, but it is no longer normal but you can ask for a stamp in your passport, if you ask for one, some students need their passports stamped for residence purposes for their home countries to prove they are not there for example.
Ok.... let me say it this way. For me, a national that needs a visa (of any sort) to enter Canada - I need a counterfoil stamped/glued/slapped on to my passport. This counterfoil is known as a Student TRV and I need it to be allowed to travel to Canada. When I am at the border (airport in my case) the CBSA officer will issue a Study Permit. This Study Permit will not be stamped on my passport, it is a document that will be handed over to me. This Study Permit document will contain details of how long I can stay in Canada (in addition to other things). The duration the Study Permit should have a validity that covers the length of my studies plus a couple of months (I am told).
I am not sure about what you are referring to with regards to stamps and the option/choice to have them or not. As I said, your circumstances/status may be different than mine.
You cannot stampt a TRV into a passport, it is glued.
You might need to look up what is a "stamp" in immigration terms.
It is not a given that the validity date of your TRV will be the same as validity date of study permit.
My daughter's GCMS notes and her letter of introduction clearly state her study permit will be issued from 31/8/20 but she will not enter Canada until 5/2/21. I am expecting her study permit when it is printed to contain a validity date in accordance with the LOI and GCMS notes of 31/8/20 not 5/1/21. She may ask for a passport stamp which will be 5/1/21 from the CBSA officer but you no longer automatically get your passport stamped - look on the CBSA website. It is irrelevant that my daughter is visa exempt, she can get a stamp if she wants.

I agree, the term Stamp is not accurate or even correct (if you want to be super specific). But since you are, who says they actually use "glue"? Let's agree that the correct term is "Placed".
Azzamkc I have one question for you. I am from originally from Nepal but i have been in Oman for about 1 year now. So, do you know if my medical is exempted or not? since u didnt have to give medical.

No they use glue to place TRVs in passports. You won't see it unless you use a magnifier.
Ok LOL. I will take your word for it. I don't even think we have a magnifier in the house. What about the rest of the details, would you agree?
You are getting very derailed. Please stick to what we are trying to address. Your counterfoil which is placed in your passport is a TRV not a study permit. A study permit is given to you at the border.

I am very aware of what a TRV is and a study permit is, having spent quarter of a century dealiing with them! I know where a TRV goes, I know where a study permit comes from , I know what an immigration stamp is. I know how TRVs are manufactured, their intricate features etc.
You stated the LOI "does not contain dates that are relevant to the study permit", from the many many LOIs I have handled, the dates of study permit validities are contained in the LOI.
It's very strange that with your level of exposure with all this you still think the validity of the study permit is mentioned in the LOI.
