STUDY
To begin with, I have a letter of invitation from a college that I hope to attend in Jan 2021. My detailed mark sheet and degree is yet to be received :( But I’m hopeful that I will have it all by 15th of this month! After that I’ll be paying fees for my program to get LOA.

My question is that even if I collect all the documents pertaining to Study visa checklist by the end of this month, will my file even be processed within the course of a month(December)?

Or should I forget about January intake and apply to some other college for may intake?

To people who will recommend me to go ahead with January intake, should I write SOP(I don’t have a lot of financial resources and I’ll only be submitting my first year fees and gic).

PS: I’m fine with online education!

Hey man,

So the timeline or whether you will get visa (even to start remotely) is something no one can answer on this forum. I don't mean to demoralize you but if you look at visa office instruction for Indian students they recommend people to apply at least 3 months prior to proposed date of start.

Relevant Quote from IRCC-

We strongly recommend that you submit your application at least three months ahead of your proposed date of travel. Applications that are received after 01 April for May entry, after 01 August for September entry and after 01 December for January entry will not normally be processed in time for the start of classes and may be refused.

Secondly, if you look at various recent webinars from IRCC officials, they've suggested people to apply at least 60 days prior to start of their course
.

However, from my personal experience I have also seen people applying in the month of December yet getting their visa on time for Winter 2021, although this was possible prior to the pandemic.

So I guess, now you're smart enough to make your own decision.

you need visa or atleast aip to begin course. depends on college but if u begin without it is risky .
with processing times in many months i feel its already late to submit for jan. many have been waiting since june / july yet no update. ( reality, not demotivating u )

Reality is there are still who are waiting since December 2019 and Feb/March 2020 without any AIP/ approval. All the applications submitted for Winter 2021 are in limbo. Waiting until 2022 is the sane option. Forget about it all if your DLI is not on the list.

Btw my college is on the dli list and I have the letter of invitation, I’m just hesitant but yeah I’m being swayed to apply for may 2021 which might be the best course of action I guess
