Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can help me out with this. My common-law spouse and I have created an express entry application and have been in the pool since March this year. She is listed as a secondary applicant and our combined points are currently 468

Due to the fact that she does not have a degree, If I had to apply on my own my CRS score would be 471.

Based on the recent draws, I believe it best to perhaps remove her from the application as a second applicant in order to stand a better chance of getting in.

My question is, am I correct in understanding that a common-law spouse can be included in an express entry application in two ways:

1) as the second applicant, whereby her profile will contribute points to our overall score (Max 40 points out of 1200 I believe?)
2) as a dependant, whereby our EE profile CRS score will be solely calculated on me alone (therefore boosting it to 471?)

Is this correct how I understand it?

Also, if this is correct and we want to go this route, is it possible to update an existing EE application to change my common-law spouse from the second applicant to dependant without withdrawing my current profile and creating a new one?

Thanks so much,

Dean

As per my knowledge second applicant and dependent is one and the same thing if your spouse will accompany you to canada. If you want only your points to be used for getting ITA then you should choose that your spouse will not accompany you to canada. In that case she will not get PR with you but still she has to go through medicals and biometrics in support of your application.

If you have more than 400 score (435 in my case), but age is 36 and NOC is in demand, do PNPs like AINP still invite people? Do they only prefer people below 35??

Hello everyone, please advise me on below issue:
Year Sep, 2011 to Jan, 2016: NOC 1111 Financial Auditor and Accountant
Year Feb, 2016 to till now: NOC 0111 Financial Manager
Can I claim full 14 points in SINP? As NOC are different, is it be a problem?
Thanks in advance for your prudent advice.

Hello
I tried searching the forum but unable to get the answer.

i live in KSA, there are some
KSA Entry and exit stamps missing in my passport.
Would this be an issue for PR.
What can be done?
Also stamps are in arabic, does it need translation?

What is the eligibilty for Express entry ?
Holding 2 years of IT experience .
If you have Canadian experience you can check eligibility for both Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skill Workers. Without Canadian experience you need to check eligibility for FSW.
Check below if you meet 67 points for FSW,

High Score and age dosent matter for PNP. Alberta specifically Look for 4 things your work experience in alberta, previous studies from province, any relative in alberta or Job offer from alberta employer. If you have any one of them you have higher chances of getting Interest letter from them. I myself got AINP with age 38 and NOC in demand but I also working in alberta. Choose them as your preferred province and keep fingers crossed.

How did you manage to get a work permit in Canada without a PR or prior experience?
