CEC Inland Application, Me + Spouse(Dependent)
AOR: July 1 , 2020
Medical: Aug 20, 2020
Biometrics: Oct 18, 2020 (Exempt)
Background Check and Eligibility: In progress according to the website.

I got an e-mail today telling me to pay our right to PR fees ($1000.) We immediately paid and submitted the additional receipt documents this morning.

What would be the next step for us? Anyone else on a similar timeline?
Your AOR is June 1st or July 1st? If it's July 1st, that really awesome. :D

This usually means that your eligibility has been recommended passed. Definitely a good sign. You could order GCMS notes to know your detailed application progress.

Hi all! Did anyone receive CoPR with VO Ottawa? From what I have read the applications with VO Ottawa are the slowest . Everyone else is getting CoPR or just waiting for final approval.
I am waiting for update after submitted BIO 2 weeks ago
The agent says the only thing still in progress is criminally check

Looks like some people get Copr after a few days once they submitted fingerprint tho

@legalfalcon given the current chaos of processing stages as some people received CoPR after their old biometrics "completed" while others received no updates for months after that, may I ask what kind of stage when IRCC update the biometrics as "complete" when using the old ones given within 10 years? Criminality or Security? Thanks.
The biometrics is a part of criminality and info sharing. The biometrics is used to do a fingerprint search on the Canadian database and on the partner nation's database.

If the biometrics is pending, the criminality will show pending.

Security starts after eligibility is passed and is not tied to the criminality.

Hi @legalfalcon is there any possibility that criminality and security passed while eligibility is pending for approval?

Usually security only starts after eligibility is passed. Criminality in absence of biometrics and PCC can be pending or passed, but unless eligibility is passed, it is highly unlikely that security would have been initiated.

However, in some very rare cases, where the eligibility has been recommended passed, security can be initiated, but very rare. It used to happen very often form PNP a year ago, but not anymore.

Hi @legalfalcon Thanks for your detailed explanation. May I ask if criminality (including biometrics) is part of security, or it is independent to both eligibility and security?

Criminality and security are separate stages. In criminality IRCC assesses if an applicant has been charged with serious criminality in Canada or in any other country which would make the applicant inadmissible.

In general, temporary residents and applicants applying for permanent residence are considered to be criminally inadmissible if the person:

  • was convicted of an offence in Canada;
  • was convicted of an offence outside of Canada that is considered a crime in Canada; or
  • committed an act outside of Canada that is considered a crime under the laws of the country where it occurred and would be punishable under Canadian law.

In security screening, IRCC and partner agencies assess the security risks a person would pose and thus should not allowed to enter or remain in Canada.

To read on security screening and the security screening manual used by IRCC / CBSA see https://bit.ly/34M0R01

Hi,
From the message that appears on my profile, I am in IP2 stage.
Could you share what is being reviewed in that stage and what has passed prior to that stage?

Thanks
