COVID-19 treatment and care for visitors coming to Ontario

Hey all,

My parents are soon coming to Ontario and will be with us for 3 months. I want to make sure that they have appropriate health coverage, especially so during the pandemic.

1. What is the best (good reviews, good network coverage) health insurance policy out there for parents?
2. How much coverage should I opt-in for? I know "it depends", but what do people usually opt for?
3. I read somewhere that Ontario provides free testing and treatment of COVID-19 for the uninsured (including visitors). Is this true?

How much coverage you shoulf get depends on the age and health or your parents and your savings. Yes currently Ontario is providing free access to healthcare for all covid patients. That may not cover things like rehab if a patient is sick for a long time and needs to be sent to a rehab centre. Only general statements have been made about coverage. The free coverage is really to protect those who have OHIP so people get tested and don't spread covid because they don't want to pay for a test.
