Hello everybody,
I am following this forum for the last 8 months, and I must say you guys indirectly helped me a lot.

My timeline is :

Country - Bangladesh
Nomination - January 10, 2020
ITA - January 22, 2020
AOR
- February 20, 2020
Medical Completed - 08 February 2020
Biometrics Completed - March 05, 2020
Web Form - September 5, 2020 (Generic Answer)
PPR - 13 October 2020

I am posting this, to inform you that they are working, we still have hope and there is no other way than have patience.

Now my problem is the VAC center is closed until further notice and passport submission time in the letter is given one month only. What should I do now?

Your valuable comments, please.

Estimated processing time is 100% from Sept 06 2020
AOR: March 6 2020
Medical Passed: March 13 2020
Biometrics : June 30 2020
Eligibility check: processing
Background Check : processing
Final Decision: in progress
Is it normal processing time guys??

I had a question, suppose I get lucky and receive a PR this time around, do I HAVE to get a job in the NOC # that I applied in? Or can I go work doing whatever, Including going to school (univ)?

As a PR, am I free to work and study as i want or do i have to stick with a job that falls under the NOC that I applied in??
@Hchodda,
Once you get PR, you can do whatever you want (work in any field or study).... The good thing about Canada PR is that you have almost all the privileges of a Canadian citizen, except the right to vote...

It is new normal for the COVID 19 situation. My estimated processing time reached 100% on August 20, 2020. After additional two months, I received PPR. Now I am stuck to submit my passport, coz the VAC is closed until further notice. So have patience. The PPR letter has given me only 30 days to submit. It's utterly psychological torture.

The truth is nothing is 'normal' in this unusual Covid-19 times...

Congrats on your PPR. I too have similar AOR Feb 15th. I had an extra Medical re assessment issue because my medicals will expire Nov 20th. So the officer moved my medicals back to 'Not Started' (from GCMS notes).
Can you tell me when is your medicals expiry. And your COPR expiry date. Did they extend your medicals?

Thank you for asking. I did my medical on 08 February 2020. If the validity is one year, then my Med would expire on 07 February 2021.

About your next query, I received only Passport Submission Request letter. In that letter it clearly states that, it is not a guarantee of PR, it's only a part of the processing of my application. I think when they would return my passport with Visa stamp, they would also send another with Confirmation Of PR. Then again, other members may know better.

The letter which I am holding now, mentions that I should submit my passport within 30 days to a local VAC center.

Hope I answered properly.

Thanks a lot for the detailed response. I think I did my medicals way too early before receiving my ITA too. Will wait and see if they ask for re medicals and then approve (or reject in worst case) or extend my medicals like they did for some members here I guess.

Congrat's on getting the ppr, hopefully you get the pr and the CoPR.

My AOR is similar to your's, 17th Feb 2020 with my medical expiring on 5th Feb 2021.

Do you reckon you'll get the CoPR with an expiry date of 8th Feb 2021 or do you suppose you'll get an extension? It's a bit too close for comfort.

Right now my only concern is how to submit my passport to a local VAC. Coz, they are closed now. I am hoping IRCC would give me a guideline through webform. Passed 8 months of crazy waiting time, now this. Not getting a break at all. So, CoPR is a little star on the distant horizon to me.

Hoping all of us can get out of this mess soon.

Yup the agent mentioned everything is passed on my file and its just awaiting for final approval
Hi, thanks! In your case then, the updates were good news..... I hope mine is good sign too. When you did you call the agent? After your first update?

What happens if your medical expires? Can you go do another one before the other one expires? Or do you have to wait for an official letter for them? Is there any timeline you have to do the medical since you receive the letter? @legalfalcon (Thank you legal falcon for your help :))

Brother, the office to send your passport to is Singapore VO, right? If that is the case, your situation is easier than you think. What you need to do is use DHL to send the documents to VFS office in Singapore and they will deliver your package to Singapore VO. Once decision is made on your application and visa and COPR printed, the VO will pass to VFS and VFS will pass to DHL. DHL will then send to your address. This is how VFS deals with countries where there is no functioning office or no office at all.

Contact Singapore VFS on their phone and they will guide you with the steps.

If the medicals expire, IRCC will send your medicals for reassessment to the Regional Medical Officer (RMO) who makes a determination if they are extended, or to ask for a remed.

However, if you decide to get a re-med, you can do so, and send the upfront medical sheet via webform to IRCC.
