But it says sponsors applying in 2021...

Did you read through the information in full? Sounds like you didn't.

It's for expression of interest in 2020. Because invitations will be sent so late in the year, people won't submit their applications until 2021.

See the note:

Note: Because the program has opened later than usual this year, sponsors will be invited to apply near the end of the year so we expect to get applications in early 2021 (likely January and February). Because of this, we’ll assess sponsors on their income for tax years 2020, 2019 and 2018.

Hi,
I have few questions regarding PGP program.
I wanted to apply for my parents but they have 2dependants (my siblings) under the age of 22 and I am single and permanent resident living in Quebec. If I only apply for my parents then my siblings will automatically get PR along with my parents?
how much income do I need to require.
will I need to count the family as 3 or 5 including me, my parents and my dependent sublings.
2. I moved in quebec this year in February.
will they count the income for this year 2020 or it will be based out of 2019.
as in2019 I was in Winnipeg and not earned anything in quebec .
if they will count for 2020, Can I submit an interest on Oct 13 this week??
Someone please help me ?
thanks in advance.

Hi all,

there is below statement on the link https://www.canadavisa.com/necessar...550.1602468478-144049676.1602355160#gs.hxfosr

"Sponsors under the Parent And Grandparent Sponsorship must meet the Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) outlined in the chart below. The MNI figures below are Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) figures, plus 30 per cent. "

Question--> Does this mean I have to add more 30% for each year. i.e. family of 5 for year 2020 is stated as $55,695 in the chart, so should i add more 30% to stand eligible. i.e. 74260. So in all, we should be adding 30% against each stated $$$$$ ???
Am i correct ?

Hi everyone.. have a question please assist.
Me and my wife are sponsoring both our parents ( parents and In-laws) and we both will co-sign each other applications

1) In each of our application how many people are we sponsoring ( Me+wife+Mom+Dad=4) OR ( Me+wife+Mom+Dad+Mother In law+father In law=6)

The amount you see on the chart is final amount (e.g. included 30%)

Hi,

For the first question, the website states as:
  • the number of people in your immediate family (you, your spouse or partner and dependent children)
So, it shouldn't count your parents or in-laws right? Can someone please confirm?

Thanks @vicwest. Seems they changed the sentence to mention “IMMEDIATE” FAMILY instead so it’s bit confusing. However, based on previous year’s calculation of family unit we do need to add the people we are sponsoring to our family size (parents for sure). Please, check link below.

I am not sure if both of us need to add our In Laws too in EOI form when we cosign each other application.

So double guessing about answer to this question as either 6 or 4.

Can someone please confirm?

Congratulations @vansharora.
This will only affect family size for 2020 i.e. 4 and not the previous years. Example 2 in this link answers your question.

My friend wants to hire a lawyer (in GTA) for filing his parents case this year. How much do they normally charge? Any recommendations?

Thank you for prompt response.
I didn’t file Canadian tax for 2018 as I was not here and I don’t have back home(India) tax return for 2018 as I didn’t work in 2018. But my husband earned enough in 2018.
In process, does IRCC require my 2018 Indian tax document?
To sponsor, you need to have 3 NOA's from CRA. This is to show that you paid taxes to Canada for 3 years, not just to any other country.

Hi all, I have a quick question , can someone has a chance to apply for parents sponsorship if his minimum income is short of a few dollars to reach criteria ?
