Guys, question: I married my wife this year and I want to sponsor my parents and grandmother, so my incomes for 2017 - 2019 should cover 4 people (exclude my wife because we are not married until 2020) and for 2020 should cover 5 people, am I right?
Your total number to qualify is 5 at time of applying regardless of when you got married, So you must have income for 5 people from 2017 to present.

Hello Everyone!
So the PGP is back! which really a good news for majority.
I just have a question. Please respect.
I'm applying super visa for my mom, suddenly yesterday I just received a good news that PGP will open next week (trying my luck with lottery system as I failed last time). I'm wondering if I can still apply for PGP while processing my mom's application for super visa?

Thanks in advance! :);)

That's not actually accurate. The accurate answer is "we don't know and need to wait for further information to be published". What you've said was the rule in earlier years. However in the 1-2 most recent years, this was not the rule and income levels for each year were aligned to the number of dependents in that year. So in OP's case, his wife wouldn't be counted until 2020. My expectation is that the Liberals will continue with the rule from last year. But again, we'll need to wait for the rules to be published.

Hi Guys, my parents papers are under process right now, one of my sisters is still 20 years old and we put her as non-accompanying because our income is only enough for 5 people (me, my spouse, our son and my parents). We did not hear back from the application yet after they request an updated schedule A, would it be best for us to withdraw this application and join this upcoming lottery? Will there be any problem doing that 'cause I'm guessing we will not get approved 'cause of income with this on-going application?

Even if a dependent is non-accompanying you must still include that individual in the LICO calculation. If you don't have enough income for your parents + dependents, then you don't qualify to sponsor any of them. IMO your application is heading down a path of refusal since you don't meet the eligibility criteria to sponsor.

If you withdraw and reapply now, will you have enough income in the last three years to cover 6 people?

Yes, we have more than enough for 2018, 2019 and 2020, we're making 100k since 2018. Do you think it is best to re-apply?

IMO your current application is going to be refused. As previously said, you don't meet the basic requirements to sponsor.

For the intake opening this month, you should assume that income from 2017, 2018 and 2019 will be considered since the 2020 year hasn't finished yet and tax returns for 2020 aren't available. Do you meet income requirements for six people in 2017?

No, we don't, only enough for 5 people. So, that means it's useless for us to re-apply again for 2020.

Yes, I don't think you will be able to reapply until next year. However the rules for this month's intake haven't been published yet so this isn't confirmed.

If you decide to reapply, make sure you withdraw your current application several months before submitting interest to sponsor your parents again. It cane take a while for a withdrawal to be processed and you don't want them to disqualify you since you had an active application at the time you submitted yourself into the lottery / pool.

I would order your GCMS notes for your currently application if you haven't done so already. I don't think you have any chance of being approved.

Hi Everyone,
I also want to sponsor my parents however I have resigned from my work because I am moving to Ontario this month .. But my husband has job and his income will be enough to sponsor according to last year income chart.. just wondering if we will be ok to sponsor my parents. Me - main sponsor and my husband-co-sponsor ..
I am going to look for other job in Ontario but I am not sure if I can get it in 1/2months time frame..
Will you please help me to understand criteria?
Thank you !!
I guess you need an employment letter too, just check the guide.

I just received our GCMS notes last week and I can see that they are stuck in the income verification. How long it would take to withdraw?
So that means even if the qualifying year for PGP 2020 is from 2018-2020, we can't still apply 'cause we have an active application? What about if I withdraw it now?

Usually, the program starts in Jan and then the invitation follows in April. This time they started in Oct and I predict, there will be no invitation before March in COVID-19 setup.
oh wow good information....thanks... just one question.... if I want to support my parents(mom and dad) and my 15yrs brother lives with them (depended) ...would I be supporting 3 people or 2?

No true, the income level should meet the number of dependents for each year, so if some is single from 2017 to 2019 the income needed will be for 3 (sponsor + mom + dad) and for 2020 (if needed) ( sponsor + sponsor's spouse +mom + dad)

I'm also in the same situation as I got married after applying for my parents in PGP 2019 and now I have 2 sponsorship applications going side by side. I've confirmed the same with IRCC.
