Hi All,
I recently submitted my express entry profile. However, the score is only 455. So, thought of writing the IELTS again to improve the overall score. Just incase if my IELTS score went lower than the previous one then whether its mandatory to update the latest score in the express entry profile? My OLD IELTS score is also valid for another 18 months.

Based on the below link, it says that we always needs to update the recent IELTS score. But my question is whether its mandate or its up to us? Because, in recent test if score went down means (something < 6 ) then i may not be eligible to submit as well. Right?

Can some-one faced this situation? if so, please assist. Thanks

If the prev IELTS score is still valid then no need to update. You only have to update the details once they expire, such as IELTS, PCC's, etc

Take some coaching in the meantime and re-take the exam at that time, if needed. You have 18mths to improve your english and IELTS score.

Thanks for the Reply. So, though we got high or low score in IELTS, as long as the IELTS score is valid, we can give those info on Express Profile? CorrecT?

Your IELTS has to be valid at the time of submission of your profile, beyond that, it doesn't matter. If your IELTS expire prior to submission of your profile, only at that time, you'll have to retake your IELTS and submit. Ofcourse, the new IELTS score will affect your CRS score accordingly.

Which is why i recommended taking some coaching and to try and improve your ielts score prior to submitting your profile, re-take ielts 10 times if you have to and submit your profile with the highest IELTS score you get.

Cheers!!

Thanks for the reply.

BTW, when you mention as "prior to submission of your profile".. It means final submission (i.e final submission for PR) Correct?
Because I already created the express entry profile and awaiting for ITA. In the mean-time, thought of writing another IELTS to increase my score and chances. But at the same time, if I am getting lower score than the previous one... As long as my previous (older) is valid, I no need to update my new score in EE Profile.

From your reply, I understand that we no need to update the lower score as long as the IELTS is valid. but in the SITE its mention as always needs to update the newer score. Thats the confusion area.

Changes to your personal situation
If your situation (or that of your spouse or partner) changes, you should re-calculate your score before applying online for permanent residence.

If your recalculated score is less than the lowest score in your round of invitations, you should decline the invitation. If you decide to apply anyway, we may:

  • refuse your application
  • not refund your application fee
Some examples of changes that could lower your score:

  • you no longer have a valid job offer
  • you no longer have a provincial nomination
  • your language test scores:
    • have expired
    • are lower after you were retested

Once you receive your ITA, you will have a deadline to submit your application. You will have to submit all your VALID doc's like IELTS, PCC, etc. If at that time your IELTS has expired, you will have to re-take your IELTS and AT THAT TIME IF you end up with a lower score then you have no other option other than to submit that result.

Currently you have 2 valid results, you submit your IELTS which has the highest score.

Re-take the test as many times as you want, ignore the lower scores. Only submit the highest result. Don't overthink this!

Hello,

Is this what you did with your profile, was it successful and do you know if any other applicants have succesfully gotten their PR even after submitting old scores?
