Guys I just got the actual COPR pdf on my cic account confirming that as of today I am a permanent resident of Canada! Thank you again to everyone for the information and ongoing support, I will attempt to apply for my SIN online and keep you all posted!
CONGRATULATIONS!!Just asking, after getting your CoPR is there any more steps left to completely become PR? or this is the end of all procedure? can you apply for healthcard renewal using CoPR?

Guys I can't take the stress of this anymore. After getting the procedural fairness letter yesterday it makes me think that all hope for living a life with my wife here in Canada is gone. I replied with proof the same day I got the letter and all I can do is wait now but I don't know how long that will take. Will it be months? Weeks? My visitor status ends December 1s and I'm freaking out since if I don't get an answer within that time I will have to apply for a THIRD extension so i stay valid here which I don't want to have to apply for another one when I'm so close to a final answer. The stress is eating me up and I can't sleep or eat. They sent me the letter since they basically think I submitted the application and then I "apparently said" I moved back to the U.S. sometime after filing it??? which is odd since I never even left Canada at all after arriving so I don't know where they would get that info from. Honestly, I was already in a bad place mentally before this happened and this just made it 10000x worse. It makes me feel like offing myself would be easier at this point so I don't have to feel the way I do anymore. It hurts to see everyone around me getting AIP and everything yet I got the stupid letter for something that isn't even close to true at all. I hate my life so much at this point.

Cheer up cuz you're not the only one. I also got the same request and everyone with the same date as mine already got theirs approved. May I know what was the exact request they wrote in the letter? Mine is asking for more proof that the relationship is genuine because they said I did not give a sufficient proof or evidence that we were cohabitating in Canada.

For mine, they said that "i" said that i moved back to the states after filing the application so because of that I'm ineligible to be a pr in Canada because they think i went back to live in the states for some reason. They didn't quote a section where I may have ticked something wrong or anything like that so I'm confused. I haven't left Canada since arriving in June of 2018 since I'm aware that leaving could mess up my application so I've never left. I provided recent up to date proof that I'm still living here and also a couple of letters from neighbors who see us daily and can confirm I've always been here. I was able to submit proof the same day since it was easy to get current proof gathered up. I'm here on a visitor record that they issued me in February that is valid until December 2020 so it's like..if they didn't think i was here then i don't think my extension would have gotten approved in the first place.

That was so strange! Well I hope those documents you have provided would be enough for them to believe that you never left from here since then.

Also they spelt my name wrong in the file of the pdf letter so that also struck me as very odd since its correct everywhere else.

Hi Amy, Congratulations! Just one question.. I got my SIN # and Healthcard using my OWP, was that different from getting SIN # and healthcard again using the COPR? Thank you in advance!
Hopefully @Amy23 will respond, but I believe you have to 1) change your OWP SIN to a permanent SIN (can be done online, I know Amy posted steps on how to do it when she just switched hers over) and 2) your health card might depend on your province. If you are in Ontario, I don't know about OHIP given with an OWP, but if you got OHIP from *AIP*, you do have to show them your COPR to get a permanent card that last 7 years.

Anyone please correct me if I am wrong!

The only other "step" would be to wait for the actual PR card to come in the mail, which are taking 3+ months, currently. Hopefully they can expedite these, as the holidays are coming up and I'm sure many PR holders would like to travel during then.

As for health card renewal, if you are in Ontario and got OHIP under AIP, you will have to show them your COPR to get a permanent card that lasts for 7 years. Any OHIP papers or coverage issued before COPR only last 1 year, I believe.

Your SIN # before PR is a temporary number (expires with your OWP) and starts with a 9.. Once you are PR you can get your permanent SIN# starting with a 5

For your health card it might differ by province but, for example, if you are in Ontario, only a couple of specific Service Ontario offices will give you service (for renewing the card, etc). If you have your OHIP as a PR, you can go to any Service Ontario.

Update - received a letter. The quick expiry date is because the letter says to mail a photo with your UCI number and the letter so you can officially be sent the actual PR card. The restriction at this point would be that you can't re-enter Canada on a commercial vehicle if you do leave until you either have the PR card itself (which says it could be delayed due to COVID circumstances) or a PR travel document. Fingers crossed the PR card itself doesn't take too long to actually come so we can travel back to see my husband's family in the US.
I do however believe you could likely apply for a SIN and OHIP which is great news, I would assume you just have to show proof once you actually have the PR Card.
Congrats still waiting for my email. Did you get the letter via email or did it get uploaded on your CIC/GCkey account/website?

Dumb question, did you guys get an email telling you there was an update on your application or you just randomly saw the update while checking your account obsessively like we all do lol?
Definitely obsessively checking lol and then get the notification a day later

So sorry to hear you're going through this. My brother had zero update for more than a year on his application. His took almost 1.5 years for no apparent reason. So sometimes we just don't know what they're up to. But yours clearly seems to be them screwing something up, I hope there is someone you can speak to to fix it
