I have applied to Visa through sds with full application from Pakistan on 3rd Jan. Still waiting for response. I don’t know what the IRCC are doing.

Same. Although I applied much later, in July, the amount of people still waiting since Feb/March, scares me ..... I really hope they make good on their promise to process applications before the start of the Fall term

This was so confusing, I just sent my additional financial support to the office in Abu Dhabi via webform.

My advice : Get into one of the webinars for the indian students the IRCC is holding and put this question there. They might have a more authentic answer.

I would not recommend doing so. While the webinar can provide useful info, please do not extrapolate the information in those webinars to yourself, because your application isn't being processed in the Indian office. From what I have noticed, the Abu Dhabi office is very different. They are so slow compared to the Indian office and I also suspect that they're withholding decisions, based on what I've seen in some of these forums where people have ordered GCMS notes to check application statuses. Furthermore, they are also only issuing AIP's because the Indian VAC's are closed. But in Pakistan, the VAC's are open, so according to what IRCC has said, complete applications should get full decisions. So the processing seems to be wildly different depending on where your application is being processed.

If the same issue arises with an Indian student ,wouldn't the general IRCC response be the same? Of course with the sheer amount of questions they get, the chances of this particular question being answered are up in the air.

Ppl with complete applications from other places then India are also getting AIPS right now. It's happening. PPl here on the forums are getting AIPS with full applications.

Yeah .... I know that that's true. I made another post on this forum a while ago saying that IRCC's actions are not matching their words, and this is a clear example of that. I just wish that they make the process simpler and start giving out final decisions soon.

Quoting my answer to another person:

Yes. It's just that whole Passport and completing the Visa application with Decision made is much more tedious work than just figuring out the eligibility of the applicant. Right now the time is really tight and there are thousands of applications pending, Visa Officers are plowing through applications to figure out the eligibility of the applicants so that they can start Fall session which is a very important session compared to Winter or Summer. A lot of programs are Fall only, this is one of the biggest reasons for 2 step process. Once they are thru this load, they'll start to issue Decision mades and PPRs and I am assuming not before September 15th because this two step process is until Sept 15. International borders are closed any way and there's no use of wasting energy and resources in issuing Visas while they can utilize he time to send AIP to ton more students.

To summarize, it doesn't matter if you receive full decision or not at this point regardless of what IRCC said. Applicants should only focus on getting AIP's at the moment. Final decisions will come in September.

Another reason people are seeing less then usual Refusal notifications v/s AIP is again related to this temporary 2-step process till Sept 15. If they start to roll out refusals to students, there's a chance that student will re-submit application for Fall 2020 session the very next day or in a week, thus creating another backlog. This was not an issue till last year, but it is now for this year because of the backlog of thousands of applications.
