But how do we crack Air India?

What do they require to surely allow students to enter the flight?

How can we make sure they will not deny boarding?
I am trying it with one of the travel agent who is quite confident that I can travel without a letter. If at all I will be able to crack a deal with him, I will let you know.

Moreover, he informed me that Air Canada is starting a few flights from Delhi-Toronto. According to him, AC won't demand travelling letter.

But the useless Indian government is not allowing students to board any other airline apart from Air India.

They are not allowing us to book through Lufthansa or emirates or any other airline. Why?

Maybe because different people get money out of running VBM & forcing students to book only through VBM. Result is only we suffer.
thats really sad...i too wanted to try lufthansa or so..

Hey, can you ask him about who can board them?

Thanks a lot for the information...

Can you please ask your agent whether Air Canada will allow students to board the flight please?

I had already asked and he said yes.

In fact yesterday I received rates for economy class as well (Approximately INR 1.6 Lakhs).
That's great to hear!

At least some positive news coming from somewhere in these stressful times.

Thank you....

But what dates will the Air Canada flights be? In August itself? Do you have any idea...

Does anyone know if a first timer has been denied entry by the Canadian border services officer at the port of entry?

Hello Everyone!

Did anyone check MMT for flight ticket bookings?

I just checked it and I have a few observations as follows:

1. Up to 31st August 2020, I am unable to find any flights
2. When I choose a travel date starting from 1st September 2020, I am finding all the options
3. When I choose Emirates and initiated the process for booking, I can find following details under IMPORTANT INFORMATION section:

  • Travel Guidelines for Canada:
    1. Entry allowed for Canadian citizens and permanent resident card-holders. Eligible travellers do not require additional permission letters.
    2. International students who have a valid study permit (issued on or before March 18, 2020) are allowed to travel.
    3.
Workers with a valid work permit are also permitted to travel to Canada.
    4. Upon arrival, all travellers must undergo 2 weeks of quarantine at a hotel or residence. Address for the same has to be submitted at immigration.
    5. All travellers must download the ArriveCan mobile app and update their details on it, before travelling.
  • A Note on Guidelines:
Country guidelines may change without notice, hence do track travel rules and your eligibility for travel on the regulatory website of the country you are travelling to.

So, what do you guys interpret from this?

there is no information about this by Air Canada
if there was supposed to be a flight for 18th, its booking would have started by now.
so i guess its a fake news.

Maybe they haven't updated the information on their website (regarding non-optional or non-discretionary travel purpose)?
