If you live in Canada, it's most likely your primary office so it's a good sign. The senior office will evaluate your case.
Thank you for your reply! Yes, I live in Toronto! Does it mean my case was elsewhere before Ottawa and before i passed the initial stage? So now just at Ottawa for final assessment and decision?

thank you!!

I don't know for sure where your case has been, but I am CEC applicant and I can tell where mine has been (I ordered GSMC notes so I know):
Centralised Intake Office (I believe this is in Ottawa) -> OSC Operations Support Centre, Ottawa -> CPC Ottawa (at one point in my notes it says that it was transferred from Edmonton office to Ottawa due to work overload).

This is crazy.... my detailed situation please see below old post:

My pr case is not considered as straight forward. I was told that i have completed everything except for one - criminal check/background verification.

I have studied in South Korean for a year and thus I need to submit police certificate. HOWEVER, the police certificate CIC requested can not be obtained from South Korean government/embassy/national police stations as it has been considered against their laws. I have included my explanation letter in my original PR submission along with official response stating they can't provide that police certificate as it is illegal etc.

I give CIC a call this June regarding my application and the agent told me: "pending background check due to South Korean Police Certificate"

And this Monday I gave them a call again and was told my case is in OTTAWA now (i have no idea where my case was) and criminal check is under process.”

Okay, well Letter of Explanation is always good, and if they will have difficulties obtaining it as you said it's illegal, I think you might be okay. It's best to order GCMS notes because it gives detailed explanation in the notes section what they say about the police certificate.

I was also worried because I wasn't sure if my Canadian eligibility will be accepted (I was in Canada with a work permit but I got paid from overseas) but I included LoE hoping it will be accepted. I ordered GCMS notes and I can see that all three officers (program assistant -> case analyst -> officer) accepted my eligibility. I have passed all stages in my background check (security, criminality and eligibility) and I am yet waiting for PR. I live in Canada too. Ontario just started their phase 3 in the covid system, so hoping that Ottawa office will speed up the processing.

Thanks for reply. My current status suggests you were right. I got mep and bil within a day of uci change. Could you please tell me how long it takes to pass eligibilty like noc match , experience verification etc and how would i know if i passed this stage?
Eligibility takes almost 4-5 months post AOR. The only accurate way to know is to request your GCMS notes. You can also send webform and ask or call IRCC.

Thanks for the quick response @legalfalcon. So security, process takes around 2 months - is that correct?

Thanks
Ram
YEs, for most it will take 2-3 months, but if an applicant is in enhanced security screening, it can even take 1-2 years.

Hi Guys,

AOR Jan 24 ..
I had received a webform reply as stated below about 14 days back .. I haven't ordered GCMS notes yet .. should I or should I wait ?
  • The background verifications are currently valid.
  • The security background verification is currently valid.
  • The criminal background verification is currently valid.

@legalfalcon appreciate your inputs please

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/transparency/access-information-privacy/requests-information-act.html and you gotta order it under the Access to Information Act and pay 5 dollars for it. This website works, if you are currently present in Canada.
