You would have to go thought this link and make an appointment online. I think it will only ask you for you name, emails and maybe PR application number(?). I do not really remember, it's been over 3 months already.
Thank you so much.Good luck for your Application

No need to worry with current situation , IRCC seems to be sleeping and making sure invites are going out and money is pouring in. Once they start say 2-3 months from now there will be huge rush, so just don't build huge expectations. In normal circumstances the processing is so slow and now it will be slow further

I live in Ontario and we are in stage 3 since last Friday. But I cannot predict anything from Service Canada at this point unfortunately.
I just hope IRCC adopts the same procedure they have done for WP and study visas extensions for inland PR applicants who have provided in the past biometrics for WP. My wife and I have already provide our biometrics.

Lol. I live in Ontario too and everything but Service Canada is open in my city. I mean it feels like it's back to business usual except for a small spike in cases,

If IRCC is not going to do anything soon, it is only going to show how dysfunctional the federal government is. I mean they introduced biometrics last year and they are being indecisive now. I hope they open the Service Canada locations for biometrics before the second wave hits. I mean it's either allowing us to submit our biometrics or waiving it. The way I see it, they do not seem to like either.

This is what frustrates me. This is a new requirement that they have managed to process applications without in the past. Of course they couldn't have predicted a pandemic and this situation, but what they do know is that PR applications have been approved in the past without this requirement. Why not drop the bioetrics until further notice?

They could drop it but they are probably reluctant to do so due to security reasons. It's so much easier to screen people with their fingerprints and I do think they do not want to go back to the old fashioned approach. I mean it's a double-edged sword now due to the pandemic, they can process your security check faster with your biometrics; however, we are not able to give our biometrics right now. If I were IRCC, I would focus on working with Service Canada to re-open biometrics for only permanent residence applicants until further notice. Temporary residence applicants are currently exempt. I never understood the point of giving biometrics for temporary residence and permanent residence applications separately. I mean it is linked to our UCIs, passport number, and etc already, it would be hard for someone to commit identity fraud. Worst case scenario, they can at least process PR applications with the biometrics submitted for old work permit/study permit applications.

Absolutely! There are so many people in Canada waiting for PPR with the biometrics submitted for WP and study permit.

as far as I know these companies provide biometrics collection services for RCMP check only, not for the one taken by the Service Canada.
For BIL you have to make an appointment with Service Canada and provide biometric there.

Exactly, I hope IRCC stop requesting Biometrics for inland PR applicants. It is a new requirement anyway.
These silly people have wasted 5 months already in deciding and fun part is still not decided, it sure how they claims express entry in 6 months when for BIL decision they have not said anything in last 4-5 months

Not mentioning that for WP it is no longer required. I am also applying for a BOWP and the processing time now is 39 days.

Yes WP no longer required but these are decisions which definitely require people with some prudent mind set Nd not bunch of idiots who are good for nothing.

I wish one day we wake up and get an email from CIC telling that the biometrics for PR is now waived lol. I really don’t get the idea of why they need a new set of biometrics when our current one is still valid up to 10 years since we are CEC inland already.
