Need advice about extension

Hi, I applied for an extension (3rd application of visitor record) last March 1st, and they advised me to do a biometrics. Because of the pandemic, biometric submission has been delayed. There has been an update last July 17 that we are now exempted to give biometric. There's still no update for my visitor record application and my status has already expired (more than 90 days).

Should I wait for their decision first before I do anything or I should be applying now for a restoration of status?

Since it's been more than 90 days, restoration is completely out of the question.

However, you're okay for now, since you're still currently under implied status until you receive the decision on your extension application.

FYI - IRCC has announced relief on the 90 day rule for restoration due to COVID-19.
