Hi,
I was working as a maintenance engineer at a chemical company. I worked from 12 June 2017 to 30 May 2018. Can I include it as one year of experience?

I used to work for 48 hours/week

If you intend to include this experience as Canadian experience, you absolutely CANNOT!

Also, you working 48 hours per week does not matter since you have to work one full year in Canada to be eligible for CEC.
"June 12 2017 to May 30 2018" is not one year yet. Therefore, you do not meet the minimum requirement to apply for CEC unless you have any other Canadian work experience.

No, IRCC doesn’t count work hours in excess of 30 hours / week. This is the same for either FSW or CEC programs.

  • at least 1 year of continuous work or 1,560 hours total (30 hours per week)—you can meet this in a few different ways:
    • Full-time at 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
    • Equal amount in part-time: 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
    • Full-time at more than 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than 1 job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
