Hi Can someone tell me whether an indian lawyer looking to immigrate and practice in Canada should get his/her qualification assessed by NCA or by any other assessment agencies listed on IRCC/CIC website?

I would suggest one of the ECA agencies.
I also thought the same..but for practicing and getting registered with any provincial law society, NCA assessment is a must.

Also, does that mean NCA will work for both IRCC and Law society.? If not then will have to get assessed twice.

I didn't see a dilemma. It says 'those who want to immigrate to Canada', but that doesn't refer to the immigration application process. It is intended to be practical advice for someone who wants to practice.

So , according you 'those who want to immigrate to Canada' will not mean and cannot be interpreted to say that it (NCA) is accepted for Immigration application process, as well?
