Hi.

.we have representative with our inland sponsorship..Submitted first week of June and received second week by the immigration... Our representative said that I cant apply for OWP since I am a tourist and I can only apply for the OWP after the initial approval..? Please I need answer..I am a bit confused beacuse the website said that you can send your application along with the OWP application... I would highly appreciate your answers so much.. Godbless to us all and gudluck!

you could have (and should have) included a owp application with your sponsorship application. as long as you have valid status (including valid visitor status) you are eligible for a work permit

Make sure follow the exact guide instructions on where each document goes and you should be fine submitting owp with spousal sponsorship

Fire your consultant and ask for your money back. Horrible and wrong advice.

So can I still ask them to submit OWP for me? I am very confused cuz I would always read on the website and it clearly say I can apply for OWP along with my application...So since we did not include my OWP does it mean it would be much longer process before I can work when Initially approved?

Well if you already submitted the application you now have to wait untill your application has aproved in principle status and apply online. I honestly would not work with that consultant anymore.. It seems like they messed you up pretty bad. In relative top how long it will take... I could see it taking a bit longer only because submitting them both at the same time they may be processed at the same time or looked at within the same time frame however all in all you can not be issued an owp without being approved in principle and the owp application can take 4-5 months for it to process.

I feel so frustrated now... Does it mean the process will take longer that it should be..? I want to cry... My status is good until august end..are there instances that extending ur stay can be denied after submitting spousal application? Cuz for them to extend my status will cost me 625$..just wondering if I can do it without worrying of getting denied?

I appreciate ur time answering my question..THANK YOU SO MUCH

An extension aka a visitor record should really only cost 100 dollars.. As long as you have Application received (AOR) You fall under implied status.. Which means you would be fine until they make a decision on your application. Implied status also means you do not need to pay for an extension. If you are getting any information about this from your consultant i would fire them like scylla said above.
Implied status also falls under applying for an extension if you felt the need to apply. The only requirements for the owp under the spousal process is that you have approved in principle which is the first stage where they approve your partner to be a sponsor.
For a case like mine that may take a year or months. It really is determined on a case by case basis depending on how much proof they recieve that declares your relationship genuine. I would not freak out about it that much if your application gets received before status expires. You can apply for a visitor record extension the day before your status expires online and be under implied status until they make that decision. However i am in a similar situation so take my words with a grain of salt and do some research yourself. I'm gathering all of my chat logs and proof of relationship to send out my application next week as my status expires end of august.

The issue here is that they did not apply for a work permit, so they do not fall under implied status, the pr application itself does not grant any status.

Also implied status begins when the application got delivered to them, not when you receive AOR.

They can still apply for a work permit, it would most likely be granted later on in the PR application process. And it would be better to apply for a visitor record, so you do not fall out of status, in case your application gets returned. If Bella's application gets returned, then they could attach a owp application, if they kept their status valid through the visitor record.

If you have a representative for both sponsor and applicant, all emails/mail goes to the representative.
If the sponsor has a representative, then the AOR goes to the representative.
