If we apply for it Trillium Drug Program (TDP), does this effect PR renewal or Citizenship allocation. It may sound like a stupid question as I am pretty sure it does not but just wanted to check before applying for my mother who is on PR?

No it does not. You still pay a substantial amount as a deductible before you receive coverage and not all medications are covered. If you have not received PR yet and have very high medical costs that will always factor into your PR application. If that is the case it has been beneficial to show that you have been receiving private coverage to cover your medication costs through your employer not the province.

This is for my mom who got her PR last year under PGP category and is staying with me. She already has PR so it should not effect her PR renewal or Citizenship application correct? This is just for regular medicine nothing that is very high in cost.

Yes it won’t have any impact on citizenship. If it is low cost medication she will likely end up paying for a good part of the medication. There are deductibles that people must pay before qualifying for Trillium. The other issue is that you agreed to be financially responsible for your parent so I’m not sure whether that will influence her qualification for Trillium.
