Strange.... I have written to them twice on separate occasions, first to let them know that my documents have expired and second that I was ready to travel again. However, I have yet to receive a response from them. I thought that was because the VO is closed due to covid.

May I know when was the last time you had send them an email?
In my case on request for extension at the end on confirmation receipt on webform says will get reply in 28 days

1. I believe people are waiting on re-approval of expired CoPR (I am in similar position)
2. You can avail automatic-revalidation if you haven't applied/changed your visa. Now with the travel ban, if you have unexpired H1B visa-- you can leave and enter in US. If you are not changing visa status(assuming you have valid status to return such as F1 OPT/ CPT with pending courseworks, valid F1 visa etc), you can comeback to US without the stamp.

Thank you for the response. I have my H1 approved for first time i mean it got changed from OPT TO H1 and my OPT has already expired, Can i still use auto-revalidation?

I am guessing you are in cap-gap then till Sep 30th. The best bet --I would say is probably get the Cap-Gap i20 which would be valid till end of Sep and if you get the CoPR approval and travel restriction is lifted, then you could enter Canada to activate PR and return to US without stamping. But there are some concerns about your work authorization.
i) if you don't get the stamp--you will probably have to go back to school and get work authorization with day 1 CPT to continue work.
ii) if you get the stamp-- you can't enter to US till the ban is lifted (Currently which is set to end of December)

In my opinion--you can try look for day 1 CPT schools and continue on your F1 status. Once you get the CoPR and US travel ban is lifted--you can go for H1B stamping.

Hi Swack,

Since you have mentioned F1, i want to ask will there be any issue traveling to Canada and coming back on F1, with the current executive order by the president? I am on my f1 Visa with copr expiring on July 29th.

Regards,
Vivek

Hey guys,

Hope all are well!

Firstly, I thank everyone who are actively easing pressure and uncertainty by sharing their views and experiences with their journey of COPR to PR. Its really calms us down!

I need some help regarding my COPR to PR journey...

Following are some of the details-

1) My COPR was issued before the 18th March and is due to expire in Mid August.
2) I am a PNP applicant to Alberta with destination Calgar on my copr
3) There is a mistake/error in my copr and visa - they have printed the wrong gender
4) As I stay in India, only the Vande Bharat Flights are available to Toronto and Vancouver
5) My agent emailed cic, and they requested him to email NDVO as its the issuing office. He then emailed NDVO too, but not reply. He again emailed CIC and received a reply that the application has been forwarded to the concerned office.

My questions:-

1) Can I travel with this COPR and visa?
2) How can I rectify it? Attempted it 3 times by now!
3) Can I land in Toronto or Vancouver (VB Flights) and then take a domestic flight to Calgary? In this case would I require to quarantine in Toronto/Vancouver? Since I am a PNP applicant, am i suppose to complete my landing procedures in Alberta?
4) Will I need to request for an extension on my COPR?

I have waited over 2.5 years to make it this far... I really hope it works out!
Hi guys, could anyone please help me with the above questions?

Thanks.

I think this and op's post are one of the most important posts in this entire thread. So, to my understanding, soft landers do not need to stay the entire 14 days regardless of how they arrived I.e. Bus, car, plane, is my understanding correct?
I’ve just had a thought. It may be written somewhere in the Order that only essential workers fall into the category of persons unable to quarantine in Section 8, no? For example, truck drivers who work in both the USA and Canada. Just a thought. I haven’t read the whole document.

Your case and my case are pretty much exactly the same. I got my PPR on 12th March and submitted the passports at the Mumbai VAC/VFS on the 16th. It was subsequently approved on the 21st just like yours and the tracking showed it was in transit as well. After that, I have been stuck in the same situation. I have no clue if my passport is still in Delhi or if it reached Mumbai right before the lockdown. In a case of misguided optimism, I had not opted for the courier service when I submitted the passports so now I don't even know if I need to go to the Mumbai office and collect them personally or if they will provide me an option to opt for the courier service now so that I don't have to make that trip. I have sent emails to VFS only to get automated responses and have tried tweeting on their account but that has been useless as well.

I am hoping that things open up in the first week of July at least.

Good luck to you too.

On a side note, where did you see that your counterfoil was valid till October?
Hello

Thank you for replying. Helped with my anxiety!

Yes! Eerie how similar our cases are and the timelines of course! Just like you, I too was too optimistic and did not avail the courier service either. I hate this limbo! Fingers crossed for the first week of July.

Re the counterfoil being valid till October, when I got an update from CIC I checked my account. The final decision was taken on 21 March (approved) It shows the document - counterfoil as valid. The date shown was for October. So I gathered that this counterfoil is valid till October. Tried sharing a screenshot here, but I am not sure how exactly to do that!

Yes ,, our passport is also stucked at vfs and it’s been stamped,, unfortunately it’s all locked after that. So I suppose your copr approved date will be after 18 March.
Hello

Thank you for replying. Helped with my anxiety!

Yes, I believe COPR approved date was on 21 March, but cannot verify it till I get my hands on my passport! Waiting for VFS to open!

Good luck to you! Fingers crossed for things to happen soon!

Has it reached VFS and you opted for it to be delivered at your place? OR is it in transit from High Commission to VFS?
Hello

I'm sorry I missed this, else would have replied sooner! Thank you for replying. Trust you are well.

It is yet to reach VFS. It says it is in transit (not sure how to understand if it is in transit from the High Commission to VFS). I did not avail courier service so can pick it up only when VFS opens I guess. Wish if there was a facility to let them know that I have changed my mind and would now prefer to have it couriered! But well!

Good luck and good day!

Regards
