Hello everyone,,
I have a query- ppr recieved 11th March and passport got stamped on 19th March. Am I allowed to go ,, as I have asked few of the agents and got mix replies. Some says as it got approved before 18th so we can go and viceversa.
It will be a big help if anyone can shed some light on it. Thanks

Guys, not sure my question make sense or not, but still asking, i may know the answer but still mind is in denial mode as i might need to do something about this,
My wife passport were about to expire on 01/Sep/2020, I renewed it earlier as I need to renew her UAE residence visa, embassy eventually cancelled her old passport, her PRV is stamped on her old passport - so is there will be any issue if she will travel with old passport with valid PRV, means like i have to inform the Canadian authorities about this change?

Any suggestion/thoughts welcome.

Thanks.

You can't since your passport was stamped after the ban came into effect. As per CIC rules only people whose COPR was approved before 18th March can travel.

She can travel with old passport but PRV should be valid. At the port of entry she will have to show both her new and old passport and tell the immigration officer about it.

Alright so I just wanted to share this here. Earlier this week I had raised a webform to inform IRCC about my inability to travel due to not being in possession of my passport. My COPR was issued prior to 18th March 2020 and since the VAC is now shut indefinitely I'm not sure if I will be able to travel before early August anyway.

I got a reply from an agent in about 4-5 days of time saying that they have forwarded my case to the responsible office - which I suppose must be New Delhi? I don't know but the agent has mentioned in the email, a line in bold, what appears to be a subject reading "Coronavirus - Passport in closed VAC". Below that there is a mention of asking me to try and reach out the VAC office with their number and email. Funny part is that I'm from India and my passport is supposed to be at Mumbai VAC but the contact number and email address mentioned in the agent's reply is a VAC in Beijing, China. I honestly don't know what to make of that. Anybody has had similar experience? I think I will have to email high commission New Delhi now.

Wild guess - seems to be a likely error from the agent. I would reach out and clarify the position, without trying to sound like an allegation or pointing out as an error! In other words - be polite and objective if that makes sense! :)

Best wishes - should be a simple fix from their end - I wont worry too much either!

Of course, it is an error and no it isn't enough to upset me to the point where I have to be rude or angry. Of all the things happening in the world right now, this looks like nothing. The point about emailing to high commission is to just be sure as I think that is what they mean by responsible office. Also, I read in this thread about somebody getting a proper assuring response after emailing there. Or maybe I'll just call them next week and explain my situation as well as clarify this email.

But all that doesn't stop me from wondering if this has still happened to anybody else here and how they went about it lol

If issue date mentioned on your COPR and visa is before 18th march then you may travel

Issue date on your CoPR determines your eligibility.

There is a travel ban till Jun 30 for now in Canada and to lower the immigration gap created IRCC is processing CEC applications and also approving PR status of inlands via email. Once this travel ban is lifted in Canada and the virus situation in outland CoPR holders home country is brought under control (if not) then they will start hearing from IRCC for extension.

You need to send in a webform and request and extension. You will see how long an extension you are given. I have seen others get a 3 month extension. You may need to arrive in September versus October. It takes multiple weeks to get extension confirmation.
Thanks I just sent for extension in webform today, my deadline was today june 12, 2020 I asked for extension till september october 2020

Has anyone of FSW-Outland applicants had their file re-opened? As per the Guidelines an officer is to reopen a file upon receipt of a web-form informing inability to travel. I sent that form on the 18th of March, but my file hasn't been touched since then.
I have also noticed today that Paris VAC is re-opening on 15th of June. Is there anyone here on this thread whose VAC is Paris? Any news?
