It would have been respectful from you to just explain what will happen rather than addressing me as a cry baby!
As a matter of fact no one knows what will happen including IRCC, I think you’re the only person who is so certain of the outcome of this fluid situation
If we have patience for sometime then we will surely get the answers. CoPR extension will be provided but dates for it are not known yet due to uncertainty involved around the virus situation. IRCC is not working against the approved CoPR holders.

Hi everyone,

4 days ago I had raised a webform for extension of my COPR raising the following points:
1. Apprehension to travel due to Covid-19 with 2 year old child
2. Service Canada's are closed and SIN numbers would take longer = won't be able to start job quickly
3. Possible problems with arranging accommodation and required thing because toronto is in lockdown and under state of emergency
3. my own city is also under lockdown and it would be hard to find facilities for packing and shipping of the items i would need transported

I received the following reply today:

" Good day ,

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
We verified the information you provided regarding your request to extend the validity of your COPRs and have forwarded it to the responsible office.
They will contact you if further information is required or if a decision is made on your application.
We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry.
We would also like to suggest the following online services that might be helpful to you with any immigration, refugee and/or citizenship future requests:

Hey! I have a question regarding the SIN. Did you need to submit proof of residence when you applied online?

Also, did you manage to open your bank account with just your COPR and passport? I saw on TD that you need two forms of identification on top of a COPR. I have only one.
For POA you can upload Rent Agreement. One forum member uploaded his blood-relation relative’s address proof and that too worked perfectly.
As far as concern about opening a bank account, I think without SIN you will not get the Unsecured Credit Card right away. But I am not sure about that.

Hello everyone,

My husband and I flew to Toronto yesterday to get our COPR stamped. Sharing my experience so that everyone who plans to do the same can get some clarity.
The process was fairly simple. We flew through American Airlines and the lady at the Chicago airport did ask us a bunch of questions as to why we were traveling now. So make sure you carry the printouts from the IRCC page where they encourage you to travel if you can and if your COPR was issued before March 18.
Good news is that American Airlines is enforcing social distancing pretty well so it was a small aircraft with handful of passengers who were all seated quite apart. After we landed in Toronto we had to fill a mandatory form stating that we didn't have any COVID symptoms, our quarantine address and other essential details. There is one more officer who looks at your passport and forms before you finally meet the immigration agent who will deal with your stamping.
Ours asked us fairly routine questions. Though we had printed a copy of our proof of funds, pages from IRCC, our AIRBNB booking, and a receipt from Walmart showing we had scheduled a grocery pick-up, she didn't ask for any of those. She did ask how we plan to go about life after the quarantine ends, if we were carrying cash and if we intended to stay in Toronto or move to another province.
You will also need to have the address ready where your PR card will be mailed.
Following this, we met the officers who dealt with our lists of goods to follow. And that's it.
We took a cab to our Bnb from the airport and picked up the groceries on the way.
The officers are generally polite and accommodating so just have your papers right and you should be fine.
Good luck.

Will there be an issue incase you say, you are planning to return after 14 days? For e.g. Especially if you have goods to follow - to get it?

Actually it turned out that even if you get the visa extension, your new visa will be issued after March 18 and you will not be exempted from the travel ban.
My COPR expired on the 11th of May and my application was reopened. I have raised a webform before the expiry of my COPR, and I have raised another webform after that explaining my readiness to travel now.
Unfortunately I have received this email from Rome Visa Office:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please be advised that the travel restriction measures provide an exemption for foreign nationals who were approved for permanent residence and who were eligible to travel to Canada to become landed permanent residents on or before 18 March 2020, the date on which the first interim order came into force.

However, as your COPR document expired before you travelled and your application reopened, a new decision is required on your case that will be dated after 18 March 2020. As such, you would not fall under the travel restriction measure exemption.

You can use the Web form to request more information from IRCC Ottawa. It can be found at www.canada.ca/en/im...expire

Until you receive specific instructions to renew your documents, it is inadvisable to book flights to travel to Canada.

Please be advised that the Embassy of Canada in Italy is offering essential services only at present due to the outbreak of COVID-19. Reissuance of documents is not possible at this time.

Kind regards,
Could be true so my viss office is london uk
I have emailed them for extension and my visa got expired on may 12 ... they have reopened on may 26.. by june 1 they have extended my medical... and nothing new so far but yes I have asked london even if my husband gets his new visa soon is he eligible to travel they have mentioned yes since he is my Immediate family member

Just want to highlight that you mean you went to Walmart to pick-up your grocery order and you didn’t go shopping. Unfortunately some have gone shopping on the way to quarantine.

Homestly coming to Canada is likely better than staying in Pakistan. Covid is going to be around for the year at least. Hopefully there will be access to a vaccine soooner rather than later but It is unlikely that people will be given unlimited extensions if Canada is not on lockdown and flights are leaving from your home country. Service Canada offices are likely going to be open when you arrive if not open already and the delay should not be a big deal since you already need to remain in quarantine for 14 days. Do you have a job you need to start remotely on day 1? Many people have been able to arrange accommodation and been able to deal with online SIN registration. Lockdown has been eased in Toronto. In terms of picking up your own belongings do you have family members in the area? Do you have your own home or share with extended family? Getting stuff prepared to go to Canada isn’t a big deal since it doesn’t make sense to arrive within more than your luggage allowance or luggage allowance plus a bit more. When does your COPR expire? You will only be granted an extension once your COPR expires. Everyone seems to be getting an extension but think you need to get past the fact that you are going to be able to delay landing until covid is no longer an issue.

Guys please help if anyone is in a similar situation..

I applied for PR from US and I received my COPR from CPC Ottowa (Expiring in July), I Left US for good in Feb and came to India to visit my parents before I move to Canada. But due to lockdown in march I have been here (Hyderabad) ever-since. My wife who is the secondary applicant is still in US and was supposed to join me in Canada once I landed there. My question is, In the event of me not able to travel to Canada before my COPR expires then where would I send our passports for stamping for COPR extension? Do I have to send them to CPC -Ottowa or to any local Canadian offices in India now that I am here ? eitherways it would be tough since mailing passports overseas is illegal...anyone in the same boat?

Dear all, i got my COPR issued before March 18th and it is expiring this month end. With this lockdown, there are no flights out of Mumbai. Any idea on whether there could be an extension? even the earliest Vande Bharath flight to Canada is only in July, so does not help!! TIA!

Hello, congratulations.

I wanted to ask you if they have asked you to provide your valid phone number (which must be Canadian apparently), so doctor can call and check on you, while you are in quarantine? One person has posted this on Facebook and that they could not reach him via his regular phone number.

Are you booking it for 15 days (for self isolation?) then going to a different place, where your PR card will be valid?
