Hi,

I landed here in march and received my pr card. I'm yet to receive health insurance as there is a 3 months waiting period.
The job I got before I came here stopped all hiring until further notice, and I just found out that the my roommate works as a nurse in a coronavirus ward.
She lied to us that she was living in a van studying medicine. But we couldn't just kick her out because shes is doing essential work in this dire situation and she is actually a very kind person.
I'm in a tough situation as I have already paid like 3 months in advance for this room through airbnb because I didnt want to go apartment hunting at this time.

So, was wondering what happens If I get it?
Will I get any healthcare from the govt or will it be all out of my pocket?
Will I get any financial assistance If I run out of money once I get it ?

covid coverage is provided for everyone in most provinces. When you landed was it asa PR and when. You shouldn’t really be sharing a kitchen or bathroom with a nurse.

I became a permanent resident in 2nd of march.
I know I shouldnt stay here, I just got to know the fact that she is working with coronavirus patients like 3 hours ago while I was having a casual conversation and it just slipped out of her mouth. She has been living here for a month now.

The three month waiting period has been waived for provincial health care coverage.

You don't qualify for any financial assistance. As others have said, this is why you had to demonstrate you had settlement funds.
