Thanks.

Not good. Your bachelor marks are not strong. You seem to have a good job so you also have to explain how a MSc would lead to career progression and why at this point in your llife it makes sense to return to do another masters degree and spend a lot of money. This is especially true if you are married and have children and are the breadwinner in the family. You should definitely try but you’ll need to explain the reasoning behind your studies and provide any reasons for your low scores in your bachelors.

Thanks for the reply. I am single. Will the MBA score be considered by the Universities to evaluate my application? If not I can just remove it from the application.

You should not lie in your application. It can lead to a ban. You may also need to use your MBA in the future. We see others not being honest on their applications who regret it later on. The MBA will be considered but your grades in your previous computer science degree will be the degree that is the prerequisite for the masters degree. Have you looked to see if you qualify for express entry (economic immigration)?

Yes, I have tried Express Entry option. It is not practical. My CRS is at 370 and the cut-offs is around 470. Even the PNPs are consistently closing above 68. I am already in Express Entry pool and have applied for Sasketchewan PNP program. In both application I am entered only graduation because my Masters degree is yet to be evaluated by CES because of COVID - 19, their services are affected.

I will be able to make you some suggestions as I have similar kind of profile and I am able to secure an admission from three different universities.

1. Canadian Universities are very GPA centric and getting an admission in CS based programs are highly competitive. I have a GPA of 8.15 in BTech but still I couldn't get into a single CS program. What my point is universities are very limited in Canada and if your score is not above 8 than it is not possible to get an admission in CS specially for a mature Student.
2. Since your experience is 15+, your aim should be to apply for those programs which are more aligned with leadership or Management as the admission chances are high and Visa chances are also high. I will share my ex, I applied to UBC data science related 3 different programs but it was all reject but when I applied to a Engineering Leadership program I was offered a seat. What I am trying to say is for a Mature student, do not apply to those programs where a college passouts aged 21-22 will apply, you will not have any change.
3. I would suggest you to apply to programs like TIM program from Carleton, MEIE program from Ryerson, Similar programs are available in McMaster, UBC, Waterloo and many others. Your past experience can help to seek the admission and also You can write a good SOP to convince a Visa officer that it's time for you to look forward for some next level leadership roles and so on.
4. Most importantly your Bachelor's score is too low to convince a VO and VO may reject your application based on low academics. Hence, if you could write GRE or GMAT and get a decent score you could still be able to convince a Visa Officer that you are a genuine student.

Hope this helps!

Thank you. Honestly, this is very helpful.

My observation is that the management and Leadership programs have higher cost compared to CS. I was looking at the MEIE program from Ryerson which I liked, its Tuition fees is around $48k for 16 months course. Add $20k for cost of living. I have sent the Ryerson University an email yesterday to confirm if my understanding of the Tuition fees is correct. But yes, CS is not an option any more. I will do more research on these programs.

Total Tution Fees of the Ryerson MEIE program is Approx 33K CAD which is 17.5 Lakh INR which is honestly quite less compared to all other such programs. The term wise break up is as below of last year:

Semester 1) Fall 2019 -2 courses [one core and one elective] total fee $6.5K
Semester 2) Winter 2020 - 3 courses [one elective + one core + one practicum] total fees $10K
Semester 3) Spring/Summer 2020 - 3 courses [one core + one practicum + Technology commercialization project] total fees $10K
Semester 4) Fall 2020 - 2 courses [one practicum and go-to-market project] - total fee $6.5K

The reason I know because I have got an admit from here and university has shared the details.
Another thing is, any Masters program that would cost you around 20 Lakh INR irrespective of any programs. McMaster similar programme cost around 45L and UBC cost 33L. I have done a detailed research and trust me Carleton and Ryerson such programs are cheapest of all. Otherwise you can try for University of New Brunswick but the program is of only 1 year or University of Regina, these will cost you below 15 Lakh. But remember one thing, you may want to live in IT capitals of Canada which are mainly Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal hence it is wise to select a program based on 1. Appropriate Tution fees 2. PNP plan to support PR 3. Job Availability

Okay, so tuition fees changes with the number of courses (units) you take in a term. I thought tuition fees is irrespective of the number of units per term. That's how I was calculating it wrong. I just checked the same link on university website with the number of courses you have mentioned in each semester then it matches with 33k. Correct, 17-20 lac for Tuition fees in the IT hub regions is a good deal.

Don’t believe that all masters require over 80% but as Canada has become more popular as a destination for international students the GPA required increases. It really depends on who else is applying.

It all depends on the program you're trying to get in. Each university and sometimes schools within universities have their own admission criteria.

Of course the lower your marks the lower your chances, when you apply for a program you're not required to disclose all your background, it's up to you.

Only way to know is for you to do some research and find a suitable program based on what you have and apply.

Definately not all programs require above 80%. Most of the universities bare minimum requirement for master's is grade B which is somewhere 70%. Universities like Dalhousie, Windsor, Lakehead accept 65% as well. However the question is, whether it is possible to get an admission in CS with such grades and I would say NO, CS/DS programs are the most demanding programs where students from all over the world would apply. what I have seen is, if the student has lots of extra work like Research, Papers Publication, internships than with low score addmission is possible. These work cannot be substituted with work experiences

I am doing research mostly on good universities which have higher acceptance rate and low GPA requirement for programs more suitable for matured students.

I am somewhat confused about submitting the Masters academic documents in the application because it is neither a full time course nor from a good university. Also, the Visa officer will certainly not like that I already have an MBA degree and going for another similar kind of degree in Canada if not totally equivalent.

But I have already applied for Masters ECA evaluation to CES in the month of March and the entire process of ECA is delayed due to pandemic. If CES evaluates my degree to Masters in the future, they will submit this report to CIC, so I really do not think I can hide my Masters from University while applying. Even if I hide to university, it will be known to VO through CIC. And that will create serious problem. Is my understand of the matter correct?

When you apply to University, you don't need to disclose you already have an MBA, that's up to you. You'll need to meet certain admission requirements for sure and that's what you need to have proven. That is not a problem.

Regarding your ECA, I don't think IRCC receives any notification from the institution performing this. It's wouldn't make any sense for them to be receiving this information, with what purpose? I am not sure about this but I highly doubt there is any connection. You will receive a report however that you can submit to IRCC,but most certainly IRCC will not check on each study visa applicant whether they've had any credentials assessed or not, because that's not something you need to get a study permit.

First you should worry about getting admission into a program, and then worry how you'll go about when the time to apply for the visa comes, if it comes at all.

Since you have said you completed this MBA online, I'm guessing you did it while working so I am sure you will be able to account for this time in some other way. So you should probably not worry about including this information in your visa application. What you need to do is convince the person assessing your application is why you want to go back to school after such a long time, that's the important thing.

It is always a bad idea to represent your situation.
