Hey guys,

Sharing my story. Sept 26 AOR. Ghost update on February 21st, called IRCC, they told me that eligibility and criminality were passed, security in progress (not started till then). On Feb 24th I am receiving an ADR message (the IRCC website was down for the 24 hours, you can imagine how anxious I've got).
It appeared to be the CV and "Student Form" request, by which I assumed it was an indicator of security screening. I've uploaded the docs on the next day, and then COVID-19 struck, so I have no idea how long the wait is going to be now. I was planning to move to Canada after completing OPT in the USA.

As for the reasons for such an ADR, I guess it's first and foremost my national origin (Russian). I'm a marketing manager with a domestic degree in management and US MBA, no STEM exposure, no scientific work and no government affiliation/military service. So looks like an unfortunate randomized check to me. Looks like most of September AOR folks have got their COPR before covid and were able to enter. My future is now hanging on a thread of the h1b approval in the US, and Trump is giving out some terrible signs on the future for the immigration population in the US.

Dude I am October AOR 2019, I got same ADRs in March: 1) CV 2) Stdent Form 3) Schedule-A 4)Travel History Form.
I submitted all docs on 13 March.
On 2nd April I got GU, but after completing my 6 months in April 2020, I raised webform, they told me that still they are verifying my eligibility and security has not been initiated yet. So I guess we have to wait more.

I'm sorry to hear they're still verifying your eligibility - and I hope you it will turn to "passed" soon.
I have raised a webform last Friday because I had no GU since I've uploaded my docs two months ago, no response so far.
Yep, just waiting now. My expectation is that we might see some of the delayed PPRs soon after Canada relaxes the COVID shutdown

My security is also taking for ever. My AOR is early Oct, and no progress since then for security. I worry to ask for GSM, does not have any consequences?

How long does security take? Do the security staff work during this time? What do you think?

If they have asked for CV, Schedule-A and other things then you might be in Security screening.
Thanks. They asked me for CV and the student form. I did not work for government just have quite a lot of publications. Everything is with no news since March. Do you think security people work during pandemic? Should we hope for 6.8 months to finalize this or even more?

It is unlikely that any of us should see any progress while Canada is effectively shut down. Sorry for being pessimistic. It's not just for the SS applications, but a general processing halt for everyone. I hope that once the lockdown is eased and/or we see the first FSW Express Entry draw in months, our applications' processing would resume.
I still hope to hear back from IRCC before my case processing time hits the full year which would be September 26th, as a re-medical for a family of four is costly.

As for the number of publications, it's not that much of a trigger for SS. I think your nationality or travel history, or maybe someone in your family working closer to government/military can be one. As I said earlier, I am a marketer with zero understanding of STEM, zero publications, etc,, but I'm Russian by passport, so... Boom! Security screening!

I also think they do not work on security during pandemic, though they say they are working. No one who was under security, passed it. Those who passed, really have not gone through it and the officer passed. Unfortunately ours should go through that process and be held off for many months to years. Not sure this affects our medical and police certificate, and they ask for another.
