My wife needs specialist testing.
She has to go back to country because she can not get a health card (Ontario)...we finally gave up, we know the rules.

But its an in-canada sponsorship.
How will this damage our application?

If she leaves and is unable to return, this will effectively cancel her inland application and you'll need to reapply.

OK
so its not like by leaving, she forfeits the application?

Upon review, I hope they will see:
COVID crisis
Her inability to get health card and her need to get a specialist checkup.

Also note that by leaving, she will no longer be residing with her sponsor in Canada as required for an inland app. Even if she is able to return, the longer she is out of Canada, the higher the risk that IRCC will refuse the app based on that.

COVID-19 really has nothing to do with your situation.

Covid19 will prevent her timely return though right? That is commanding her return so it is very much valid for the case?

Nothing to say that it will prevent her return. There are exemptions from the travel restrictions for spouses of Canadians.

She is exempt from the travel ban since her spouse is Canadian. So no, this won't prevent her return.

So as in-canada spousal applicant.... PR app... and has 1 open work permit with no job...

Then they could let her back in?? Is that really true?

It's rare - but it does happen. An OWP does not guarantee re-entery. I assume she has a valid eTA or TRV?

She had a valid eTA upon arrival last september. I'll check! So eTA I know would be a big help I'm sure.

So I'm extremely glad to know it is possible but rare to deny her. That's extrememly heart warming. Do you have a favourite charity?

Would it not be less expensive to just see a specialist in Canada? By the time you factor in the cost of flights and the risk of her not being allowed back in and/or her application being cancelled because she's not in the country, it would be much more sensible (to me anyway) to just pay to see a specialist in Ontario.

It may be very hard to actually reach a specialist these days especially if not a regular patient.

They’d typically have to pay to see a family doctor first who’d then refer them to a specialist . Which could take months to see

I understand that. I worked for 20+ years in specialists' offices in Ontario. However depending on the referral it could be that she's seen within a couple of days/weeks. Even paying for the GP to get the referral would be less expensive (and less likely to find her not able to re-enter Canada) then paying for flights to another country right now. Especially since flights are cancelled constantly everywhere in the world.

Offices are not working as they normally are. Based in previous posts I believe this was already attempted. Doctors don’t want the liability of reading a scan over the phone without a person being their patient. You don’t need a referral if you are paying cash. In a time where many Canadians are being told to wait for consultations even if they have pretty severe medical needs many institutions will not take cash paying patients.
