Hello everyone,

I am an International student. I came to Montreal, QC in March 2019. I completed one year program in Feb 2020.

I then enrolled in another one year program starting from March 28, 2020.

I went home to visit my family as I had one month between both the programs. My flight ticket got automatically cancelled due to the recent event of COVID-19.

College is not allowing me to take classes online.

My study permit expires in May 2020.

Can I apply to extend study permit?
What happens if college doesn’t allow me to study? Please advise

Thank you in advance

Would defer your studies until September if your college agrees and apply for a study permit extension. Include information about your situation with proof in your extension request including your NOA for September.

What college is still doing in person lessons during the lockdown? Also since you had a study permit before March 18th you should be allowed to travel (by Canada at least), so look for another airline which is following the rules.
