Hi everyone,

Not sure if I put the right thread but it is more a question of how to extend my passport.

I have acquired Permanent Residency card earlier this year and I need to extend my passport accordingly.

As a citizen of Korea, in order to extend the passport from abroad, I need to show a proof of residence in Canada from the time I first arrived, but seems like when I entered Toronto, Canada, the stamp is missing from my passport and the staff from the Korean embassy is asking for that.

To rephrase, is there anyway to prove my residency/arrival in Canada if the stamp is missing from my passport? Is there any proof of documents that I can submit or any advice from CIC?

Thank you indeed and let me know,
Regards,
Khanghyun Kim

I assume you have your CoPR. That should have the date you became a permanent resident.

As above if you have your COPR use a photocopy of that and whilst your PR card is not a reflection of landing date it proves you are a PR so include a photocopy of that as well. Passports are not always stamped these days by many countries unless restricting a stay given all records are electronic once a passport is scanned at a POE.
