Hi everyone i am still confused about this because i hold student visa of 3 years which started in 2019 and ends in 2021 but because i failed few subjects in my 3 semester ( sep - dec 2019) so i cant take winter semester and no classes are offered in summers so i decided to come back home(india) for 7 months from jan - aug 2020 but as of now during covid 19 am i allowed to enter in Canada in August because i have to get back before my semester starts in September 2020 ?? Please let me know

You will probably find your study permit will be, or has been cancelled due to the fact you have not studied for 7 months.

Seems that the travel ban will be lifted on June 30th if not extended so you should be good. Read the following article regarding the travel ban: https://www.cicnews.com/2020/03/can...nbound-outbound-fights-0313931.html#gs.0s27e1

Also I was in the same case as you a three years ago. Took some time off to come back home for an internship for 6 months then was able to go back with no problem.

Good luck!
Ah but other guy said it could be cancelled? I have never heard that before

As long as you are enrolled in the program you should be good. They might ask you why you did not attend the previous semester. I would suggest you to write at the same time a letter to explain your absence when you renew your SP.

I have never heard of a study permit being cancelled. I have seen cases of permits being revoked but that is usually due to the student not following the restrictions mentioned on his SP.

In theory your school is required to advise the IRCC , if you’re in attendance or not . If you’re not, your student permit visa is then cancelled
A student visa is just that, to be an ACTIVE student . It isn’t to come & go at your leisure
Have you thought ahead if the IRCC ever asks for your school transcript, what then ? Seems you’ll have a bit of a gap

Well i have to extend my visa anyway since i have a gap of one semester and as far as the attendance is concerned i could get it from my college and i already informed the dean of my program that i will be going back home india for 7 months so it shouldn't be a problem ? I just didn't want to work there and if i cant take classes then what's the point of staying there anyway so now i go back in September when the classes starts again. How can i get a official response from the Canadian website or immigration ? Because up here everyone's got different replies man . I am really worried about this.

If you have a valid TRV, you can return. Your study permit should still be valid. Note that you no longer qualify for a PGWP.
