Hello,

My PR application is processing and currently shows it's due in 2 months. I'm working in USA on h1b (granted until 2022). I also have a visitor Visa for Canada which I got in 2015.

Now the question is can I visit canada on my existing tourist visa until my PR is processing?

Hello,

You can visit Canada temporarily but you cannot move here. Visiting temporarily would mean that you come for a short period of time and have a return ticket. It would also mean that you bring minimal personal belongings (only a suitcase or two - what a normal tourist would bring). You would not be able to import all of your personal belongings to Canada as a visitor. If CBSA feels it looks like you're trying to move to Canada early, you could be refused entry - so you would want to make sure you're really just visiting. As a visitor, you won't be able to work or attend school or have coverage from the health care system - so you would want to take out private insurance. Keep in mind that the 2 months left in processing time is an estimate and not guaranteed.
