There seems to be some confusion around how long a medical exam is valid for.

1) Is it from the time of the exam or from the time the exam is "passed"? I notice comments above say it's from the time it was passed, however, that creates problems.

2) If you aren't able to link to GCKey acct, there is no way to know exactly when it was passed because eCas only shows "Medical results were received". It doesn't say passed, or what the date was, etc. I believe eCas "received" means the same as passed but not positive and still there is no specific date.

Anyone have any concrete evidence, or a reference we can check for this please?? It's a difference of 2 1/2 weeks in my husband's case (March 21/19 to April 8/19) so I'd definitely like to know for sure.
Is the date of Passed as in ircc confirmed it's passed minus one day even my political representative told me from the agent april 22 last day of medical validity. And its stated as passed april 23th... thats clear to me. And that date is the limit of immigrant visa validity too

We had to redo the medical even before our previous one expired.
I asked for an extension but they didn’t even respond just told us we had to do a new one.
Exactly !! You can ask but it is rare that they extend . Our interview was December 2 , my husbands medicals were expiring Jan 19 . We were approved and literally had to run around to get him ready to arrive ASAP , he made it with two days left and I asked her in the interview to extend she said no you have a lot of time ... Urgh

I don't know if you folks realize it, but there is an email option to talk to a specific person on the forum more personally without putting it on here for everyone to read. :)

Hello, I'm about to buy a plane ticket for my wife from Peru to Montreal using Copa Airlines for her PR landing. Is there a potential problem at Lima airport if I buy her a one-way ticket? I've heard that since she doesn't have a PR card yet that they might refuse because she is still not actually a resident yet and that she would need a round trip ticket. Would like some opinions. Thanks!

Look, I’ve been going to Peru for decades and in fact took my Cuban wife there three times last year before she got PR in Canada. The policy you refer to has nothing to do with the airlines but is rather a Peruvian government oddity. Every pax has to have a return ticket to their country of origin if they dont have PR where they are going first.

Period. I’ve been kicked off a flight in Lima because it went to Miami and I had a Canadian passport; more recently Ive had to show a ticket to Canada when Ifly from Lima to Cuba.

It’s stupid but there it is.

trust me i know

Spanish to French all... easily just in papers.. 500-600$

and for me getting the legal papers to get married there another easy 600$.

ESTI in Cuba translates papers so cheap I can’t count that low but they only have two offices - in Santiago and in La Habana.

I had all my paperwork translated in Santiago de Cuba.

Hello guys! At what time do you recommend to apply for GCMS notes? I am still very early in the process (file moved to Mexico VO in December 2019). I am thinking of applying at the 6 month mark.
You can apply at the 6-month mark but I would recommend even waiting until 8 or 10 months. They don’t really do anything on the files for awhile. Rarely people get through quickly. Do what you think is best

We get to see each other every 4 months cause i CAN afford it with my schedule and all and some friends helps me out with taking care of the house especially during winter , without it , it would be super complicated.

And no, There's no real standard sequence in things unfortunately during the process.

Going for a vacation week in April (3 to 11). hoping to get news beforehand... as it's supposed to be over. We have fingers crossed so she join me on the return ( which would help her entry )
I know! His boss is super supportive of us and likes me a lot, they developed their own little system so my husband can work remotely, so he comes often too and will be able to be in DR with me when the baby is born and be here the whole summer basically. He's here now and we'll see each other during Holy week as well. My bosses are also very flexible and any overtime I take I have the option to take time off instead of cashing it out so I get quite a lot of time off.

Yup, I've worked in teleworking too from her country a few times already , my boss sees its a serious situation and request and i'm not doing this for the fun to go always at beach as disguised vacation. So she has accepted i go with the laptop from my office. Of course i can't go for long as i have my house here and all. but with internet and all technologies we now have.. those things are now possible.

Just can't wait for things to be over as it's really exhausting to always go there gonna be my 8th times in 2 years and a bit, (first time was xmas 2017.... and since then around every 4 months).

They always look at me suspicious at airport on the return with CBSA... Visitor Visa always same place lol

So i tell them that most probably when she's gonna be arrived, i won't go there that often so if they can do a thing about it, talk to IRCC, to make it faster they can try lol , until it's solved.. i'll go at the same kind of pace is the reality:p

Haha imagine travelling so often from a Caribbean country, passport full of stamps and just a carry on. I have all my cold-weather clothes there, so I can pack light. I ALWAYS get "random" checked.
