Hello

I have look through so many forums but was not able to find what I was looking for.

I just got married last week and we both are on work permit as of now and it is valid till august 2020. I have created Express Entry profile and I know I need to update the status. We both are currently holding Indian passports. Do we need to update our passports?

We both will apply for EE separately as we will be getting required crs score. Do we need to do anything else instead of providing marriage certificate.

Also I am confused on this part as well, Should I choose no as she is already in Canada

2) ii. Will your spouse or common-law partner come with you to Canada?

Will appreciate the help

No need to update passport.
You will need marriage certificate.
Answer that as 'no' if your spouse is applying separately. (Spouse will also answer the same in their application).

Thank You for the response. Suppose I got PR first and if my wife is lacking some points can we answer yes to that question and get extra points of being me as PR or will this count as spousal sponsorship

There are no additional CRS points for having a PR spouse. Spousal sponsorship is a separate application. The only reason to apply separately is because both of you have similar CRS scores and will get ITA together. You can play with your EE profile or CRS calculator to see how many points you get if you apply together vs. separately and compare those with the cutoffs from recent rounds.
