Sounds more like a sibling or a cousin and sounds like that after the OP started working he paid the expenses for what I am guessing is a family member. If it was more of a longterm relationship with no other caregivers would think the dependent would have been included from the beginning.

Agree but the OP needs to do research on who is an actual dependent and adoption of convenience before spending money to adopt someone and telling the dependent or family that the young person is moving to Canada.
