Hi myself poojitha , and am permanent residence of Canada . I have sponsored my spouse under spouse or common law partner in Canada class ( work permit +PR) . Can my spouse travel to other countries if he he gets his work permit ? Would he loose his status if he travel ? I have done plenty of research but couldn’t find anything regarding this . Please help

To get the OWP, you're applying inland, meaning your spouse lives with you in Canada. It is risky to leave Canada while applying for PR. The OWP isn't a status document (ie, having it doesn't grant mean they'll let you in, necessarily) . If for some reason your spouse left the country and was denied re-entry, his PR application would be considered abandoned.

This is a relatively common question - here's another thread:

If he leaves for a significant period, you could also risk your application being scrutinized as to why you applied inland in the first place.

Hi hope you don’t mind if I ask one more question . The cic website says that while the PR application is in process , the applicant can travel if they have valid visa like work permit or study visa . In contrast , it also says that : you may want to reapply to be sponsored from outside Canada as a member of the family class if :
You do not plan to live in Canada with your spouse while processing your application . you left and CANNOT RETURN . But I can return if I have work permit. Am I right ?

A person needs a valid eTA or TRV to board a flight back to Canada. Having a work permit does not guarantee entry.
