Yeah. My eAOR is Aug 2nd. I passed medical test on Aug 23. The status changed to IP2 on the same day. I called IRCC on Sep 5, and they said my eligibility and criminality had both passed and they had just started my security. On sept 23, I called them again, the agent said 75% of my security had been done by that day (This is one of the reasons I doubt I am in CSS as it is unlikely that 75% of CSS can be done within 3 weeks).

There has been no update since then.

I'm a FSW-inland applicant and I am now in my final term at my university. I am the only one in my cohort who has applied under EE as all of my friends and classmates don't qualify for EE, so there is no any other's case to which I can compare mine and get some clues.

As to Immitracker, my understanding is that it contains roughly 5-7% of all applicants, which in terms of statistic studies is already an extremely huge sample, that's why I refer to it quite often, with a pinch of salt though. Among the 450 August eAOR applicants whose cases are monitored there, only two FSW applicants have already got PPR by today, and this is another reason I think I cannot confirm I'm under CSS without CBSA notes, as the vast majority haven't got their PPR either, so the timeline itself cannot be a reliable indicator for CSS.

If there is no delay, my CBSA and CSIS notes will come through in about 10 days' time, and then everything will become clear. As you said, if PPR is not issued 2-3 months after eligibility is passed, it is likely to be CSS, but I am now just straddling this 2-3 month mark. Maybe I will be convinced that I am under CSS if there is still no PPR in the next four weeks (by then the security check will have passed 3 month time, which is the upper limit of the "2--3 months theory". I am currently at the lower end of the 2-3 month timeframe, so I still have a little hope, though it is diminishing hahah..
Considering the reply that you got from the agent, there is another thing apart from CSS that may be possible; the Visa Officer might be sleeping on your file

I can see a keen researcher, and you can take references from any site by all means (not that I can stop :p ) but as one crosses months on repeat (Though I hope you don’t) these forums eventually matter less because SS is a deep pit. And after coming this far, I have realized that the whole process is like that; a dark hole that tries to reek your soul out if you let it. The only assurance is that unless you are Bin Laden, they cannot stop you from becoming a Permanent Resident :D I wish you a speedy PPR, if not, then you can join my “Face the Reality, Enjoy CSS” laughter club. Free membership for you ;)

Hey guys, I am trying to draw comparisons between three GCMS notes.

On GCMS note A which is still pending approval, there is an entry under the notes section that says Fingerprints: best captured and photograph: best captured. I was able to get confirmation from CSIS that this person is undergoing security checks. The application is now 8 months post AOR

On GCMS note B: There is no entry in the notes section saying anything about fingerprints or photograph even though both applications are similar, from the same country and processed in the same office. This file has been approved and COPR issued. The application was approved in 4 months. It seems this file did not undergo intensive security checks.

On GCMS note C: There is an entry in the notes section for fingerprints: best captured and photograph best captured. This file is still pending approval and I want to confirm if the file is undergoing security checks. The file is now 6 months post AOR.

Please check your GCMS notes and let me know if you see anything like this. It might mean nothing, but If we can draw parallels, it would really help people know whether they are under security checks or not so they dont have to keep calling CIC and wondering whats wrong with their application.

Does any one know of a good lawyer for mandamus?
My AOR is october 10, 2017 with SS for spouse starting on April 27, 2018. Till date, we have no favourable update.
We tried contacting the MP, ordered ATIP notes several times but to no avail.

Everyone in our acquaintance who also applied around the same time as us has received their PPR. Seems like we are stuck in a dead end with them sleeping on our files.

we are considering mandamus now. Or atleast sending a demand letter. For that, we contact two lawyers, Mathew Jeffrey and Bellisimo but both have quoted fee for first consultation and seem really expensive.

someone on this thread earlier posted that he got his demand letter filed for 2000$. I would appreciate if others would pour in their experience.

Help me out guys!
Thanks
Mandamus is pretty straight forward. You just need a lawyer to draft and send it. PM me and I can link you to an immigration lawyer. The big firms charge a lot, I had one quote me $15,000 for judicial review.

To know that your application under comprehensive security screening or not just order CBSA note , it’s simple no need to make comparison between GCMS notes.

Haha. I find your language very funny:) Thank you for your good wishes! I ordered my notes from CSBA on Oct 4, so I am expecting them to arrive no later than next week, and by then the pattern will become clear. Are you also waiting for your CSS result? I have collected another information from government reports that in 2016, out of the 250,000 PR applicants whose files were processed that year, around 45 were found inadmissible in security checks, so the rate of refusal due to security check is around 1-2 people out of every 10,000, therefore it is not something that should worry us too much, but the feeling of uncertainty is atrocious.
Thank you :D
And that’s precisely the reason why I rarely stress myself over it anymore ‘cause the chances of rejection are minimal. There is uncertainty, yes and neither do we have a definite timeline for CSS but there is nothing we can do so

My security checks were initiated in June while in SS finally started on 30th August so that’s what my start line is.
AOR January 2019 :cool::p

So. I think you may be very close to the finishing line as you are about to cross the 1-year mark. I will study my CSBA notes next week when I get them. Will post here if there is any surprising or interesting finding from the notes.
it does not matter whether you cross any expected processing time... they sent my application to SS at 17th months of my PR application, and now it is the 22nd month.. I am still waiting for SS...

Are you an EE applicant? Your application has been in progress for 22 months? That's outrageous!
my friend in EE is in his 15th months.. also in SS... they treated me unfairly... why not put me in SS earlier !? why in the late 17th month... this will added another 10 months to my application, that is 27 in total or even more.. I am so frustrated !!

the latest update i got from CIC was :
security background checks are in process, Security background checks are done by Canadian Intelligence Agency and the intelligence agency of the home country. Our agency is waiting for a report from the home country.
There is a note that additional verifications are required. (whats additional verification?)
no timeline for this application as it is considered non-routine!!

what does it mean? am i under SS , and how should i apply for CBSA note ?any link ? or should i apply for GCMS instead ?:confused:

If you have someone in Canada friend or relative apply for CBSA note through the following link as representative for you and you’ll need to sign the consent form
https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en
Or through any website provide this service also you’ll need to sign the consent form

It’s not necessary but you’ll need to apply for CBSA note to confirm
