Hi,

I'm planning to do a soft landing in Canada via air, stay there for 2 days and leave to India for my H1B interview. While filing the DS160 I have to answer Are you a permanent resident of a country/region other than your country/region of origin (nationality) indicated above?

Since, I'm landing in Canada before my interview and the COPR is going to be validated by the visa officer I should select "Yes". Please suggest.

Also if anyone can suggest if I should go for my H1B interview first by mentioning "NO" for the above question and do the soft landing after coming back to USA. I have read in other discussion that my PR status is only going to valid after landing in Canada.

If anyone had been in the same situation and can suggest how to proceed it would be a great help.

Thanks in advance!
