Congrats, did you get any message/email when they started background check or you found it on MYCIC?
Do they ask for a background checks for all applicants or it is random. In my case, it is written as Background check not applicable? @robertp your expert opinion is required.

Everybody goes through background check. It can take from a week to few months.
BC status can be seen as N/A, not started yet, In progress.

I am not in the tracking sheet. I had actually applied in 2017, due to some complexities, the application is still in process. Those complexities on the sponsor's side have been resolved. Below is what I can provide if you wish to add me to the sheet.
App submitted- 2017
Medical, PCC completed - July 2019
E-case - in process (don't know the date)
CIC application linked - August 2019, says background check ongoing and they are processing. However, in the table, the status is 'submitted'.
LVO - NDVO

I see from the last two years (from SS) that the average time from Meds done to DM is around 2-3 months fro NDVO. It does seem that many of the applicants from 2019 have surpassed that timeline, including myself (I am counting myself in 2019). Weird. Any recent DMs from NDVO here?

Thanks for responding!
No DM's from NDVO lately.
Patiently waiting for any update.

I thought I would share my story with the board.
Today, i was lucky enough to talk to a very kind agent. He said that the officer sent verification letter to Alberta government and the have received the confirmation on August 1, 2019. For sponsorship eligibility, there is no other information they need to make the decision. I should receive something near future. for my second application they have sent the verification letter to Alberta government today. according to the agent it will take maximum a month to hear back from the provincial government.

Congrats @cheemais . Are your parents in India or here in Canada. Does the PPR letter allow you to submit passport to VFS center in India ?

Thanks! My parents are in India but the letter states both things - either submit it in India through VFS or to CPC-O if they are present in Canada.

Thanks, that's good to know. It took a long time for your second app letter to be sent. I'm AB too so perhaps mine is going through the same process.

Did the agent tell you what are they verifying and why? Is it randomly selected to do so?

Hi All,

Is there a way to verify if the Visa Office has reviewed the additional documents provided?

I received request for submitting Medicals, PCC and Travel History Form (IMM5562) on August 01, 2019.

I submitted all documents by August 3, 2019. Passed Medicals on August 15, 2019. However I do not know if the PCC and Travel History form were accepted and reviewed/passed?

Please guide me on this. I would appreciate your support.

Thanks.

@robertp

It is indeed very long time. i have asked the reason. the agent couldn't tell me any reason.

According to the agent it is general verification that they do for every single application for PGP.

They are verifying if you ever received any Provincial Social Assistance.

From what I saw so far, It's not a random process and they don't send it for everyone.

My background check started yesterday on my cic but did not get DM on PA as at 11.30am today. I hope i’ll get DM before end of day today. What do you think?

@GRANDCUTEUS
I was also hoping to get DM for PA today on eCAS. However, it looks likes I might have to wait a couple of days. Hope to get that updated in a day or two.
