On this special date of birth , i didnt ask for any gift, nothing, just wanted wife to share the day with me in here. I think when events like that arrive , we feel even more the distance *sigh* and is tough for mental.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get your passport back after you send it? Just trying to get an idea. Also, what does the VFS actually do? Are they the ones that stamp your passport?

Took us 4 weeks.

Happy birthday ! Don't worry, think about it, after this process is over ...you will have many , many more birthdays to spend with your wife..stay positive

I know is just a pinch to have to celebrate by skype. Having life on hold.

I feel your frustration, each passing event and holiday gets tougher for me, Thanksgiving was especially hard. Hopefully they stick to the 12 months timeline and my husband can come before Christmas but I don't have much faith that they will complete it within 12 months

Is more nothing is said we are kept in the empty space... for months and months i mean if its just s matter of vo backlog why dont they say it right away instead of putting us in the unknown without any answer. Like ok biometric is passed criminality too and medical your transfer is not gonna be before a certain month cause they are late there so we expect your file to start to process on the 9th month. Be assured thst we'll do all to finish in the timeline... too tough to say ? Ha ? Would avoid soooo much stress and worries ... just it.

I handled that with no problem, now that I'm within 2 months of 1 year of progressing I just want to know when, I am so sick of keeping my life on hold. Yes my friends keep me super busy and I try not to think about it but it's so hard not knowing

Did you receive the dates to travel along with your passport when it was returned to you or are you still waiting on that information?

Sorry for the long delay, I just moved to Canada, once you receive your passport you can flight at any time that you want, I did it 3 days later and everything was okay at the airport and immigration process

We all are sick of this situation. Gonna be at 3 months remaining of the 12th in around a week here and it's still total silence , no update.

Just got the email that my file was transferred to Mexico! Application was received January 21st and now transferred October 21st, exactly 9 months in.

I see so many couples living apart, it makes me wonder was there no other option for you and your partner to live together? The Canadian partner couldn’t live in your country?
