Hello, I am a married man but I am going through a divorce. I am expecting to receive my ITA next week, what are the consequences in my application?

In my profile, I said I am married but I am not sponsoring my wife (wouldn't have enough points and the plan was to sponsor her in the future). Is there any problem if I divorce after receiving the ITA or should I wait until I get my PR?

Thanks in advance,

Thanks in advance,

If you list yourself as married, your wife must take and pass the medical and provide PCCs in order for your PR visa to be approved (even if she is listed as non-accompanying). Given you are going through a divorce, I assume your ex won't be willing to do the medical or provide PCCs. You'll want to change your status to separated, remove your wife from the application and provide evidence that the divorce has been filed with the courts.

Is PCC police certificate? I have that already.

What if she does the medical exam? Can we apply for divorce after I get the PR with no consequences?

And how long does it take to apply for divorce? Would this delay my process?
