Hi.

Arrived here in Canada April 2019, and unfortunately my employer died lastl Sept 2019.

Now I am looking for an employer. Do I still need LMIA if I will be applying inside Canada for the new program. I wanted to apply for an Open work permit for my husband along with my new work permit application.

Since applying for the new program will take about a year, will there be a conflict in my status since my prior work permit will expire SEPT 2020.

Hope somebody can enlighten me.
Thanks!

For the new program caring for children pathway you don’t need LMIA for Pr application

I have an Immigration consultant. She wants my application to be under LMIA. Is this still posible having the new pathway now. I dont know why she insists

I think yes, employers with LMIA are hiring HSW under TFWP (Temporary Foreign Work Permit) which the processing times for work pemit is faster . You'll get your work permit in 2 to 3 months that's why your consultant insist on this. The only thing your work permit restrict you to work with one employer.
