Public Notary in Canada

Dear all, I am living in Edmonton and trying to find a public notary to certify my docs. I find that the price varies greatly. One place charges $10 per page, another charges $30! I was wondering why! Are those public notaries accepted by CIC?

There is no set rule on how much they can charge so it differs.
