Hello all!

I and my wife both are Canadian PR. We did soft landing in 2018 and are currently in India. My wife is 3 months pregnant.

Due to financial constraints, we were thinking of having baby in India and then apply for baby’s PR after some 2 months of his birth. I will in Canada when i will apply for his PR.

My question is, what are the chances of an infant’s PR rejection? What could be the possible reason if my baby’s PR gets rejected?

Please guide. Thanks!

The only reason the application would be rejected is if the person sponsoring (you) leaves Canada. The requirement is that you be living in Canada at the time you submit the applicationa and continue living in Canada while the application is processed. Otherwise there should be absolutely no reason why the application is refused.

Thanks for the reply. 2 more questions please,
1. I heard sometimes infants PR could be rejected on medical grounds, is it true?
2. How long can it approximately take to get infant’s PR?

Sponsorship will take 5-11 months. Your wife needs to make sure she remains compliant with her RO.
