I have not applied again, but my observation from this forum, and by talking with many other people in contact, I understand that rejection is high.

Sad to hear that. I am now worried about my mother's application. Did you not supplement your 2000 CAD bank account statement with where you got that money from, like job and payslips?

I attached mine and my wife's job appointment letter, salary slips, PR cards etc.

Only thing which could be used against is recent deposit in my dad's account and not attaching property valuation or CA report for that purpose

Eligibility review was started on same day of biometric submission and it was updated within couple of hours after biometrics done.

Applied for my mother online. She lives in New Delhi. This is her timeline -

• Application Submission - 12 September 2019
• Biometrics Collection Letter - 13 September 2019
• Biometrics Completed - 17 September 2019
• Current Status -

  • We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
    
  • Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

I am more anxiously waiting for her TRV than I was for my PR. She is a widow but we have shown property proofs and rental income as ties to the home country and a bank balance of around 32,000 CAD. She has been to Schengen but was refused a Schengen visa once (we have put that in the visa form though). I applied a visa for a duration of 6 weeks.
Hopefully, I didn't make any mistake and she gets her visa soon.

By the grace of Wahe Guru, my mother's TRV got approved today!! We are so so happy. We cannot wait for her to come here and show Canada!

We received a mail titled "You have a new message in your account for application" from donotreply@cic.gc.ca at 2:49 PM (Canadian Time). I checked the CIC portal and it was for Biometric Correspondence Letter. 50 minutes later, I received another email with the same title at 3:40 pm and this time the Final Status in the portal got updated. This is the timeline for all the events -

• Application Submission - 12 September 2019
• Biometrics Collection Letter - 13 September 2019
• Biometrics Completed - 17 September 2019
• Correspondence Letter - 25 September 2019
  
• Original Passport Request - 25 September 2019

These are the final statuses -

• Review of eligibility - We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
• Review of medical results - You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.
• Review of additional documents - We do not need additional documents.
• Interview - You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
• Biometrics - September 17, 2019 Completed.
• Background check - We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
• Final decision - Your application was approved. You need to send us your valid passport to finalize your application.

We will be sending her passport to VAC tomorrow. I will update this post again when she gets the visa stamped.
