Hi Good day Everyone

About me, I came to Canada for my education as international student in January 2018 I am here still as student till March 2020. I will apply for work permit after March 2020. In between I am planning to get married in November with my fiance in India.

I want to apply for his spouse visa, I know I can only apply for it after getting my work permit but then I could like to know what to do prior to do in between those time.
Kindly let me know your advice and guidance for following doubts
1. What is procedure to apply for spouse visa?
2. Do I need to have his name include in my password as spouse. Can I do it here in Canada?
3. Will there be any problem if we apply for open work permit visa for my spouse while I am in my work permit.
4. Any part to be done form India regarding preparing for visa.

Just an option
Is it advantage to get married in India or Canada. If so what is procedure to get married here.

Thank you for your time and lookimg forward to know about response.
Have a great day

Won’t you be in school and right before exams in November? How can you leave for at least a week and get married? It is slightly pointless to apply for an SOWP in November. It takes multiple months to be considered for a SOWP and given your permit is about to end there is a high chance it could be refused. SOWP are never guaranteed for spouses of international students. You can apply for SOWP when you have a job with 3 pay stubs in NOC 0, A or B. All can be done from India.

Your spouse can try and obtain a TRV to come to Canada before you get married but that could result in almost a year before he can work and no healthcare.

Is this an arranged marriage or have you been dating for a long time, perhaps lived together or travelled together? Have a culturally normal wedding is what is expected unless you have a good reason why you are having another form of wedding. Unless his family lives in Canada you should get married in India.

Thank you for responding to my questions

Currently I am doing my internship to get graduated. Visiting India for emergency purpose regarding family issues. We are in relationship, families are stressing to get married soon.

Then, it is better to bring him. Once I get work permit.
Thank you again for your response and my marriage is gonna be normal decent indian wedding

Take your time and to an normal marriage which is most common in your country (it does not have to be big, but follow normal procedure). Also that is usually not the major point, they will still check if for marriage of convenience (but not as deeply as for spousal sponsorship for PR), so there should be the dating time, then normal planning and I guess your cultural marriage + needed registering in India.
My personal opinion is that your education will come first in this matter (your spouse if he is serious, can wait few months until you have easier time and you have passed your exams). Rushing you for what 3-6 months soon can have consequences of years of problems (as your PGWP is tied to getting your diploma done).
